The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 1168

Chapter 1168

Frederick sighed at how stubborn Amelia was being.

“Then please wait a moment. I’ll tell Mr. York you’re here and check if he wants to see you.”

“Thank you.” Amelia was grateful.

Frederick went to Warren’s office while the other secretaries looked at Amelia curiously.

These secretaries knew who Amelia was. They knew that their boss and the woman in front of them were husband and wife, but the couple kept a low profile, so the public was still unaware.

Now, this woman was pregnant. There had been a time when Warren stayed in Strico for a long while, and it seemed to be because of her.

It appeared as though Warren attached great importance to her as he even arranged for Frederick to handle her matters. But now, it seemed that it was difficult for her to even meet Warren.

Everyone began to speculate about the situation.

Meanwhile, in the office, Frederick reported to Warren about Amelia waiting outside.

“Since she wants to wait, just let her wait,” Warren said indifferently.

“I understand,” Frederick answered, left the office, and came to Amelia. “Sorry, but Mr. York doesn’t want to see you.”

“It doesn’t matter. I can wait here,” Amelia said.

After asking Frederick for a cup of warm water, Amelia found a chair and sat down quietly without disturbing the others.

At noon, when Warren left his office to head out for lunch, Amelia came forward and asked, “Can we have a word?”

Warren glanced at the woman coldly and said, “I thought I had made myself clear before.”

“But…”

“I won’t agree to what you said before. Since Alicia did such a thing, she

deserves to be punished.” Warren’s eyes fell on her increasingly pale face.

His heartbeat seemed to accelerate, making him feel uncomfortable. “Amelia, you should know that I never let those who hurt me off the hook.”

Her body trembled. Seeing that he was about to step around her, she suddenly said, “So why did you let me off the hook when I hurt you too?”

He paused but didn’t look back or give any answer. A second later, he walked away again.

Amelia’s eyes darkened. Frederick came over to ask Amelia what she wanted for lunch and then bought a set meal for her at the company’s

restaurant.

Over the next few days, Amelia waited outside Warren’s office every day like clockwork. She would directly eat lunch there, and she wouldn’t leave until Warren left after work.

Eventually, it became a unique sight. Despite that, no one dared to say anything. Even if they wanted to gossip, they just whispered behind the couple’s backs.

That day, when it was time to get off work, Amelia watched as Warren ignored her again. When he passed by her, she lowered her head and packed up her belongings.

However, right as she was moving to place her flask in her bag, her body abruptly stiffened as a low cry escaped her mouth. Then, the flask slipped out of her hand and landed on the ground.

Amelia frowned and didn’t pick up the flask. Instead, she covered her abdomen with one hand.

“What’s wrong with you?” A voice suddenly sounded in her ears. Only then did she realize that Warren had picked up the flask and walked to her side.

“N-Nothing.” She took a deep breath.

“Is your stomach feeling unwell? I’ll have Frederick take you to the hospital,” Warren said.

“No.” She said quickly, “It’s just a fetal movement.” The previous fetal movements she experienced were vague and indistinct.

But this time, the fetal movement was very clear and could be distinctly felt.

“Fetal movement?” Warren was stunned. Obviously, he didn’t expect that to be the cause of her discomfort.

Looking at his surprised expression, Amelia took Warren’s hand and put it on her abdomen without further thought. “Here, feel it for yourself. The baby is still moving.”

His body stiffened for a moment, and when his palm touched her abdomen, he could clearly feel a kicking.

It really was fetal movements.

A novel and strange feeling slowly spread from his palm to his whole body.

She was pregnant, and it was Warren’s child!

Some images flashed in his mind, making his gaze grow more intense.

The fetal movement stopped, and Amelia came back to her senses.

She instantly scolded herself mentally, “What are you doing? How could you take his hand and let him touch your abdomen? And more

embarrassingly… Why is his hand still pressing on my abdomen even though there’s no longer any movement?”

Her face flushed slightly, and the area his hand was touching on her abdomen seemed to become hotter.

“Umm… Thank you!” She took a step back in panic, took her flask from his hand, and hurriedly stuffed it into her bag to leave.

Warren looked at his empty palm in a daze, and his expression changed.
