Chapter 1236
Amelia was growing increasingly uncomfortable, her complexion paling as she clutched her abdomen tightly with both hands.
Seeing her condition, Warren quickly reassured Amelia, saying, “Hang on a little longer. We’re already at the hospital. I’ll find a doctor for you right away.” Though this hospital wasn’t specialized in obstetrics and gynecology, there might be some methods in the emergency room to temporarily relieve her pain.
But just as Warren was about to lead Amelia to the emergency room, those people continued to block their path, incessantly taking photos with their cameras. One of them even thrust a camera right in front of Amelia.
Warren shoved the person aside with one hand.
The camera in the person’s hand fell to the ground. Immediately, the reporters’ expressions changed, and they began to attack Warren. “How dare you break my camera? Outsiders like you should get out of Lommore. You have no right to meddle in the Summer family’s affairs.”
Warren shielded Amelia and appeared confounded as he confronted the reporters’ aggression.
Amelia was in so much pain that she could barely speak. She could only feel the man beside her was protecting her, and there were sounds of impact near her ears, though none of them were hitting her.
Suddenly, there was a loud “thud.”
Amelia saw a camera striking Warren in the head. Blood began to flow profusely from Warren’s forehead, the crimson liquid streaming down his cheek and dripping onto her face, scalding her skin.
Amelia’s heart trembled. She knew Warren’s skills were exceptional, and he wouldn’t have ended up in such a disheveled state if it weren’t for protecting her.
But now, the pain was so intense that she couldn’t even manage to offer a full apology.
After what seemed like an eternity, the sounds of the scuffle ceased. Amelia felt herself being lifted by powerful arms, and then she heard that familiar yet deep voice. “Hang in there, we’re almost at the emergency

“But what about him? How is he doing?” Amelia thought.
Amelia struggled to open her eyes, her vision hazy as she glimpsed his profile. Blood continued to trickle down his forehead and cheek, a brilliant crimson that was nearly blinding.
Then, darkness closed in around her.
When Amelia finally woke up, the first thing she saw was the face of Rosalie.
Anxiously, Amelia asked, “How’s Warren? Is he okay?”
Rosalie was stunned for a moment and then said, “He’s fine. He has some injuries, but fortunately, they’re only superficial wounds. However, the condition of the child in your belly is not too favorable at the moment.”
Amelia was taken aback. “How’s the baby?”
“The child is now putting increasing strain on your liver. It’s uncertain if even seven months can be guaranteed. If your pain recurs, it’s highly likely you’ll have to deliver the baby surgically,” Rosalie said with a grave expression.
Amelia’s face instantly turned pale.
Rosalie continued, “So, we need to get you back to Strico. There’s a better medical team in Strico that can provide you with better treatment. Moreover, after you give birth, it probably won’t be suitable to travel back and forth with the baby. Returning to Strico now is the best timing.”
Upon hearing this, Amelia knew that Rosalie was right. If she stayed in Lommore, she could go into labor at any moment, and treating a premature baby could take a long time. If she gave birth here, it might be nearly half a year before they could leave.
“But Riley is still…” Amelia hesitated.
“You don’t need to worry about Riley. Although the initial diagnosis was inconclusive, the odds are already in her favor. I’ll stay here to resolve this matter. For you, the most important thing now is to safely deliver this child and get through this critical period. Only if you make it through can we discuss the future. Otherwise, do you think Riley will be happy if you stay in your current condition?”

Every word Rosalie spoke struck deep into Amelia’s heart.
She bit her lip and said, “All right, I’ll follow your advice and return to Strico.” Her gaze fell to her protruding belly beneath the blanket.
She hoped that this child could be born safely and soundly.
Upon hearing Amelia’s response, Rosalie let out a sigh of relief. “I’ll go make arrangements with the doctor. We’ll head back to Strico tomorrow.”
Just as she was about to leave the ward, it seemed like something had occurred to her. She turned to Amelia and asked, “Do you really think your love for Warren is shallow?”
Amelia stared at her in bewilderment, not immediately grasping her intent.
“When you opened your eyes, your immediate concern was Warren’s injury, not the child growing inside you. We all know how much you value this child, to the extent of being willing to risk your own life for the child’s existence. But… just now, your biggest worry was Warren, not the child.” said Rosalie.
Amelia was left speechless, her face showing a sense of astonishment.
Rosalie sighed, “Amelia, have you ever thought that your love for Warren is not shallow? It’s just that you haven’t realized how deep it goes.”
Rosalie left the ward, leaving Amelia in silence.
“Haven’t realized how deep it goes?” Amelia whispered silently. Her heart throbbed with pain at those words, and she subconsciously touched her abdomen.
