The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 1251

Chapter 1251

After many years of marriage, Harriet realized Zephyr’s heart was even crueler than she had imagined.

But now, even if Zephyr was unwilling to help her, she had to drag the Scott family down. The Summer family must not fall, and she couldn’t let Riley get everything back.

Harriet came to the office building of Scott Group and went in.

The staff within the company were well aware that she was Mrs. Scott. As soon as Harriet stepped into the elevator, they immediately started discussing her.

After all, everyone was well aware of the latest breaking news.

Harriet walked to Zephyr’s office but was stopped by the secretary.

“Mrs. Scott, Mr. Scott is talking to someone in the office now. If you wish

to see him, please wait a moment.””

“I need to discuss an urgent matter with him,” Harriet said.

“You still need to wait.” The secretary was firm.

Harriet felt agitated as she perceived the secretary’s gaze filled with disdain directed toward her.

“Why are you looking at me like that? What? Do you believe that something bad happened to the Summer family recently, and now you, as merely a secretary, think less of me” Harriet scolded directly.

The secretary replied calmly, “Mrs. Scott, you think too much. I didn’t mean that.”

“No? If not, why not allow me in Mr. Scott’s office?”

“Mr. Scott said that no one is allowed to enter the office at the moment,” said the secretary.

As soon as the secretary finished speaking, Harriet slapped her in the face. “I’m Mrs. Scott. If you don’t let me in, believe it or not, you’ll be fired right away!”

“I don’t know when the Summer family became so powerful even my

secretary could be fired at any time.” Suddenly, Zephyr’s voice emerged.

Chapter 1251

Harriet was astonished and stunned as she watched Zephyr and the company’s senior executives walk out of the office.

“Zephyr, I… I just wanted to see you, but your secretary stopped me,” Harriet explained.

“That’s what I specifically instructed. She didn’t do anything wrong by stopping you,” Zephyr said coldly.

Undoubtedly, this was a humiliating blow delivered in front of everyone. Harriet’s face flushed with both anger and embarrassment.

What was even more mortifying for her was Zephyr’s statement, “You may be my wife now, but that doesn’t entitle you to fire employees from our company. In addition, if you hit someone, shouldn’t you apologize?”

“Apologize?” Harriet was stunned. She wondered, “Did he just ask me to apologize? Why doesn’t he consider the impact on my reputation if I apologize to a secretary?”

Thinking about the Summer family’s current situation, Harriet could only apologize to his secretary aggrievedly before stepping into the CEO’s office of Zephyr.

As soon as she entered the office, Harriet complained with grievances, “Zephyr, we have been married for so many years. Shouldn’t you show some respect to me in front of others? Your actions earlier could harm my reputation if the whole company finds out that the CEO’s wife apologized to a secretary.”

Zephyr walked to the desk and sat down. “If you’re afraid of being shameless, don’t do anything shameless. Are you here in my company at this hour because you need my assistance for the Summer family?”

“Aren’t you obligated to help the Summer family, considering I’m your wife, and we have a son?” Harriet asked.

“Nothing in this world is taken for granted, just like when I married you,” Zephyr replied indifferently.

Harriet’s expression changed. “Are you blaming me for forcing you to marry me by using my pregnancy?”

Zephyr didn’t answer the question but nonchalantly stated, “The Summer family is in a tough spot now. The Scott family, unfortunately, will not offer any assistance. If the Scott family were to intervene, it would only bring us down.”

The icy tone of his voice suggested that he was merely discussing the pros and cons of something mundane

Harriet’s heart skipped a beat, and she pondered, “Is this man still so cold even in such circumstances? If it was Riley who married him, would he still be so cold when the Summer family is going through this incident?”

In the end, she repressed those words and kept them to herself.

“If something happens to the Summer family, it will affect the joint projects they have with the Scott family. The Scott family will also suffer heavy losses at that time,” Harriet stated.

However, Zephyr remained silent, implying that these losses were something he had already anticipated.

Harriet continued, “So, you don’t care about Hendrick either? Do you think he will be able to maintain his upper-class status in Lommore, given the fact that his mother spent her time in jail before? I’m afraid everyone will laugh at him behind his back. A mother who has been in prison is a stain he can’t get rid of in his life!”

Zephyr’s eyes narrowed abruptly, intensifying the icy coldness within them. “So back then, the Summer family really sent Riley, who wasn’t ill, to a psychiatric hospital?”

“Yes.” This time, Harriet openly acknowledged it.

“Why?” he asked harshly.

“Riley held 35 percent of the shares in Summer Group. If she truly gained control of the group, how are my parents and I supposed to lead a good life? You should know how much she hated us back in the day!” Harriet replied.
