The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 1256

Chapter 1256

“Unfortunately, I have never believed in vows. The oath of mankind is the easiest to break. You said you would sacrifice everything for me. So… Does that include your life?” Calvin said indifferently.

“Huh?” Roxanne was stunned for a moment and then immediately said, “Yes, including my life. Calvin, it doesn’t matter if I lose my life for you. After all, you gave me this life. Otherwise, I would probably be dead by now!”

As if he was not moved by what she said, he looked at her indifferently. “Really? Give me your life back, then.”

Roxanne was surprised. “What do you mean?”

“From now on, you are no longer my personal assistant. I will take back the help I once gave you as well. From now on, you have nothing to do with me.” If he could give it to her, it was only natural that he could take it back.

Roxanne’s face turned pale. She would have nothing left if he took everything back.

Even if he had helped her pay off the debts of her family, that simply meant she was free of debts.

She had already been exposed to a life of luxury, so she couldn’t possibly be willing to go back to her old way of life.

“You can’t do this to me, Calvin! I… I only went to Rosalie today for

your sake! I knew that she and I looked a little similar, so I didn’t mind being a substitute! I could even do plastic surgery to make myself look more like her! I could also talk in her tone of voice and dress up as-”

“But you are not her!” Calvin interrupted her before she could finish her

sentence.

He kept her by his side because he didn’t want a person who looked like Rosalie to get in trouble, and he also wanted to use her as a substitute.

But when he saw Rosalie again in Lommore, he realized that it was all just self-deception.

The so-called substitute was just his way of numbing himself and was an act of escapism.

Calvin stood up and walked toward the door.

Roxanne rushed forward and hugged Calvin as she pleaded, “Calvin,

don’t go! I was wrong! I would never go to Rosalie again. Please forgive me! I will be satisfied as long as I stay with you!”

“Even if I have nothing?” he asked coldly.

“How could you have nothing? You’re Mr. Gunner of the entertainment industry and the heir of Gunner Group!” Roxanne said.

Calvin looked at Roxanne coldly and moved her away from his side. “The woman I want to love will never be someone like you. It was also my fault to leave you by my side as my personal assistant. I won’t take back what was given to you before, but I will not give you anything more ever again!”

After saying that, he left the house without hesitation and left Roxanne, who was still rooted to the spot in shock and disbelief.

While being with him, she had heard others talking about him secretly and knew how cold-blooded and ruthless he was.

Even though his ex-girlfriends pleaded bitterly, he still broke up with them whenever he felt like it.

Things were worse for Roxanne as she was not even his girlfriend.

“If I can’t stay with Calvin, then what would happen to me in the future? What could a person like me, with an ordinary education and no skills, possibly do?” she thought to herself.

At that moment, Roxanne’s heart was filled with fear and resentment.

“It must be Rosalie! Calvin couldn’t possibly have known that on his own! This is all Rosalie’s fault! One day, I’ll make Rosalie pay the price!” she thought to herself.

The police detained the three members of the Summer family as suspects, making it the hottest news at the moment.

Harriet was waiting for her parents-in-law along with their grandson to return to Lommore. As long as her parents-in-law returned, even if Zephyr didn’t want to, his parents would force him to take action.

However, she didn’t expect that the one who showed up at the detention center would turn out to be the lawyer who helped with the divorce

“Is he going to divorce me?” Harriet asked in disbelief.

“Yes. This is the divorce agreement. Mr. Scott has signed it. It will take effect once you sign it and go through the regular procedures. In terms of property, both of you had a premarital agreement on it beforehand, so there is nothing to dispute about it. We will implement it in accordance with the agreement. As for the custody of children, it is only natural that Mr. Scott would want it. Given your current situation, Ms. Summer, it would be difficult to obtain custody even if you go to court.”

The lawyer was talking about the details of the divorce.

Harriet was so immersed in her anger that she didn’t want to listen at all.

“Zephyr chose to divorce me? How could he do this? I was willing to give up most of the benefits of Summer Group just to be with him! Now that something has happened to the Summer family, he just throws a divorce

  • agreement at me and wants to cast me aside?” she thought to herself.

“I want to see Zephyr. Tell him to come see me, or I will never sign this divorce agreement!” Harriet declared, and then she left the room with the staff without waiting for the lawyer’s answer.

When the lawyer passed Harriet’s message on to Zephyr, he seemed to be surprised and said, “Apart from these, what else did she say?”

“Nothing. She just said she wants to see you, Mr. Scott. She insisted she would never sign it without seeing you,” the lawyer replied.
