The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 135

Chapter 135

When Rosalie was with Zachary, he would always defend her every time she got into trouble.

She thought that she could rely on him forever, but later, she realized that she was wrong. In the face of a real crisis, he could withdraw his love for her at any moment.

The sad thing was that she was used to relying on him. Therefore, having no one defend her anymore, she felt desperate and miserable.

When she was tortured in prison, she felt so desperate that she almost thought of committing suicide several times.

If it weren’t for Lillian’s frequent visits and encouragement to her, she would have died.

Thinking of her close friend, she felt deeply grateful.

Rosalie sighed and unbuttoned her costume. Just as she was about to take off the costume, she heard footsteps behind her.

Being alerted, she suddenly turned around and saw Jonathan walking into the dressing room.

There was no one in the dressing room because they were filming, but… “This is the women’s dressing room. Please get out,” she said with a slightly flushed face.

However, Jonathan approached her step by step and said, “What are you afraid of?”

“Afraid?” She was stunned and took several steps back slowly.

However, the more she stepped back, the closer he got to her. He didn’t stop until her back was against the wardrobe of the dressing room.

He pressed his hands against the wardrobe and imprisoned her between his arms and the wardrobe. “Why are you so afraid of me defending you?”

He was a little confused about this. After all, other women would be overjoyed if he did the same thing for them. However, she was not like any of them.

Rosalie pressed her hands against Jonathan’s chest subconsciously and said, “Get out. Someone will come in soon.”

“No one is gonna come in.” Jonathan sounded very sure.

“What made you say that?” she glared at him and said.

He said, “Because no one can. My bodyguards are guarding the door outside. How do you think people are gonna get in?”

Rosalie was speechless. She didn’t notice that there were bodyguards beside him just now.

“Tell me, why are you afraid?” He asked the question again with his slender fingers tucking her hair behind her ears.

She was still wearing makeup on her face at the moment, so she looked fresher than usual, but he didn’t think the style suited her well. When he got close to her, he could even smell the makeup.

He preferred her without makeup and the natural light fragrance on her body. He loved getting close to her to smell it.

Her almond eyes were the only ones that didn’t look different with makeup on. Even when she glared at him with them, he thought she was cute.

Rosalie bit her lips and lowered her head, denying, “I’m not afraid.”

Jonathan pinched her chin gently with his fingers and forced her to look at him. “I’m asking why you feel afraid, not whether you feel that way.”

Apparently, he was sure that she was afraid.

Rosalie’s heart skipped a beat. “Did he sense my fear?” she thought.

His beautiful and deep eyes seemed to have looked into her soul.

“I’m afraid that I will get used to it,” Rosalie said awkwardly. “Some things become a habit after a lot of repetitions, but once I’ve gotten used to them, I’ll feel desperate when I lose them.”

“Have you ever been desperate?” he asked casually.

Rosalie took a deep breath, looked at his eyes, and said firmly, “Yes, I have.”

He froze, and the faint smile on his face disappeared slowly.

“Can you go out now? I want to change my clothes,” Rosalie said.

Unexpectedly, Jonathan didn’t leave. He stared at her with his dark eyes and stroked her face with his fingers as if he were thinking about something.

After a while, he said in a low voice, “If I could make sure it would always be your habit, would you still be afraid?”

Rosalie stared at his face in a daze. For a moment, she didn’t know how to answer him. She just felt that her heart was beating violently at this moment.

Rosalie changed her clothes with a flushed face in the dressing room. Although Jonathan had already left, she still felt the warmth left by his fingers on her face.

She didn’t answer his question just now. She thought, “What did he mean by ‘it will always be my habit’? Is he going to protect me forever? People like him didn’t need to lie, so he might be serious about what he said. But what about the future? Who knows what he’ll think in the future? Anyway, I never get him. It’s better not to get used to relying on him.”

Rosalie convinced herself in her heart.
