The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 1378

Chapter 1378

Before Lydia could finish her sentence, Warren stood up and interrupted her. “It’s my own business. It’s getting late now. I’ll ask the driver to drive you back home.”

“Warren, all I want for you is to be safe and sound. Even if you used to be in Amelia’s debt, you had already repaid her kindness. I almost fainted when I learned that you had donated your liver to Amelia again. I was so afraid that you would die during the surgery,” Lydia said. She gradually choked up.

After Lydia left, Warren came to the study and opened a drawer. Inside was his divorce agreement which Amelia had already signed.

In other words, as long as he signed and handed them to the lawyer, Amelia and he would be officially divorced.

However, he didn’t want to sigh.

This was what he wanted at the very beginning, but when Amelia sighed at the agreement, he suddenly felt empty.

Like his mother said, he had already repaid Amelia even if he used to be in her dept.

At that moment, someone knocked on the door of the study. Warren the agreement back into the drawer and said, “Come in, please!”

The door was pushed open. Melissa walked in and said softly to Warren “Mr. York, it’s time to take the pill.”

Warren got up and took the pill handed over by Melissa. He swallowed it with water and then handed the glass back to her.

When Melissa took the glass over, her fingers seemed to accidentally touch Warren’s.

Warren shot her a cold glance and Melissa suddenly panicked. The glass slipped out of her hand and fell to the floor. It broke into pieces and the unfinished water spilled all over the floor.

“I’m sorry, Mr. York,” Melissa apologized quickly, bending to pick up glass shards on the floor.

Suddenly, she cried in a panic. One of her fingers got cut by glass shards, with blood oozing from the tip of it.

“Ouch!” She looked up at Warren with tears in her eyes, looking pitiful.

Usually, a man would care about an injured woman at that time. In that Melissa thought she would take the chance and threw herself into

his arms.

case,

However, Warren didn’t say anything and stared at her coldly.

Melissa felt guilty under his look. “M-Mr. York…”

“Hurry up and clean the mess!” “Warren urged coldly.

Melissa was stunned. She had no choice but to endure the pain and continued to clean up the broken glasses on the floor while gritting her teeth.

When she finished cleaning up, she got up and said to Warren, “Mr. York, I’ll get out of your hair now.”

“By the way, don’t come here anymore. You can go back to work at the hospital tomorrow,” Warren said abruptly.

“What? “Melissa was shocked. She finally had a chance to approach him after Amelia left. However, Warren’s words took all hope from her. “Mr. York, d-did I do anything wrong? Or did I upset you?”

“I’m well enough now, and I don’t need a nurse to care for me a So you should go back to work in the hospital,” Warren replied o

“But… But I want to care for you.” Melissa bit her lip and continue boldly, “Mr. York, I’ve fallen in love with you since I came here to you. I’m willing to stay and look after you for the rest of my life. L let you get hurt or upset…”

A roar interrupted her even before she could finish her sentence. “Shu up! Who do you think you are?”

“I…” Melissa was taken aback. “I just wanted to tell you how much I love you.”

“I haven’t divorced yet. What do you mean by that?” Warren snapped, his eyes full of disdain.

Melissa was shocked. Hadn’t he divorced yet? But she saw Amelia leave after signing the divorce agreement!

So, Warren didn’t sign them?

Melissa suddenly widened her eyes in disbelief.

“I don’t want to see you here tomorrow. Now, get out!” Warren said

coldly.

Melissa staggered out of the study with a pale face. It was only a short moment, but she felt as if she had fallen from heaven to hell.

She thought she would have a chance to approach Warren when Amelia left, but the reality betrayed her.

How could she be willing to accept it?

Rosalie came to Amelia’s small shop.

“Didn’t Jonathan ask you to stay at home and not run around?” Amelia teased.

“Yes, he did. But I want to see you,” Rosalie replied.
