The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 1413

Chapter 1413

“Besides…” She paused. “They had taken all the compensation when my parents died and even inherited a lot from my parents. They aren’t really that poor. They are just too greedy.”

And she didn’t want to fulfill their greed.

“All right, let’s stop talking about it,” Hanna said, taking a deep breath to compose herself. “I need to continue working on the storyboard. If I don’t finish it soon, I’ll have to stay up late tonight.”

Then she went back to the workbench and began to immerse herself in the storyboard.

Calvin looked at Hanna quietly and was lost in thought.

When Hanna finished drawing the storyboard, she noticed that it was already past 6 p.m.

“Sorry, I didn’t notice the time,” she apologized hurriedly.

“Have you finished it?” Calvin asked.

“Yes.”

“Let’s go

have dinner then. What would you like to eat?” he asked.

“How about the diner near the studio? The one where we had our second meeting,” Hanna suggested.

Calvin’s eyes flashed slightly. The diner was a small pasta restaurant where Rosalie had worked before, and it held many memories of her.

“Why do you suddenly want to go there for dinner?” he asked casually.

“Maybe it’s because that’s where we decide to keep our relationship. It makes me feel… familiar and comfortable.” What she didn’t say was that she usually went there alone for meals when she worked in the studio.

Every time she sat inside and had meals, she would think about the fate between her and him.

If she hadn’t walked into the diner that day, maybe she and he would have missed each other.

Fortunately, she didn’t miss him.

He pondered for a moment and then said, “Okay. Let’s

go there.”

Because the diner was not far from her studio, they decided to walk there.

They went into the diner and ordered. Although their relationship had been a hot topic before, no one in the diner recognized Calvin, as he was not a celebrity himself.

However, sitting in such a diner, the clothes he was wearing and his temperament still drew occasional glances.

After a while, the dishes were served. Hanna lowered her head to have her meal. She hesitated for a moment and said, “Are you free next Wednesday?”

Calvin asked, “Is there something that day?”

Next Wednesday, there would be an important contract to be signed for a TV series project at his company.

She bit her lips slightly and said, “Next Wednesday is my parents’ death anniversary. If… If you were free, could you accompany me to worship them? I… I want my parents to meet my boyfriend.”

She wanted her parents to know that she was not alone now. There was man with her, even if… She didn’t know how long he would be with he but at least she was happy for now!

He fell silent.

She said hurriedly, “Of course. If you don’t have time, it doesn’t matter. I… I’d better go by myself. Anyway, I used to do it myself.”

“I’m available. I can go with you,” he said. “I was just thinking about what I need to bring if I go to worship your parents.”

She breathed a sigh of relief and said, “You don’t have to bring anything. I’ll prepare the candles and food for worship. You just need to be there.”

After saying that, she lowered her head and continued to eat.

Looking at her lowering her head, he felt a sense of sympathy. He suddenly realized that he was always cold and rarely sympathized with

others.

But now he wanted to protect Hanna from any harm.

Chapter 1413

Warren quickly arranged a house to live in and asked Amelia to move there. According to Warren, since they were going to pretend to be a lovely couple in front of the reporters, it would be necessary to go all out.

Amelia also discussed this with her mother, but Matilda said, “You can take Aiden and Zinnia to live there. I’ll stay here in this concession stand instead of moving there.”

“That won’t work,” Amelia objected.

“Why not? I still need to run this concession stand. And if I move in with you, considering that Warren and you are just pretending to love each other, I won’t get used to it. If we meet reporters or they take photos secretly, it will bother me even more. I’d better stay here,” Matilda said.

Hearing this, Amelia bit her lips and said nothing.

In fact, she understood her mother’s concerns and embarrassment. The reason she and Warren lived together was not because they were in love, but because they were acting.

A marriage that would end sooner or later would make them more embarrassed if Matilda lived there and faced Warren all day long.

“Then call me every night before going to bed, or I won’t rest assured,” Amelia said.

“Okay, I will,” Matilda replied. Looking at Amelia pitifully, she said, “I’m worried about you. Now you come to live with Warren…”
