The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 157

Chapter 157

Jonathan didn’t say anything else. He straightened up his body and closed the door. Then, he got into the driver’s seat and started the car.

Rosalie was surprised to see Jonathan driving. Usually, it was the driver who drove the car.

Yet, as he was driving, she happened to look at the side of his cheeks.

She had to admit that his profile was more defined from sideways, especially his sharp jawline, straight nose, and sexy, thin lips.

At this moment, his hair was not as neat as usual, and a few strands fell on his forehead. He looked more like the old “Jon” she used to know.

“Jon…” “Thinking of this name, she couldn’t help feeling complicated and inexplicable. Just now, she kept calling him “Jon” in a panic.

She thought, “Did I subconsciously think that Jon is the one who can help me instead of Jonathan? But, be it Jon or Jonathan, they are both him.”

Now, he was the only one she could find help with. Although the police were also searching for Lillian, she still wanted more people to search for Lillian just in case.

It would be better to find Lillian earlier.

When the car stopped at the traffic light, Jonathan turned around and looked at Rosalie. “What’s wrong? You’ve been looking at me like this for some time.”

She was surprised and didn’t expect he had noticed her staring at him just now. “Nothing. I’m just wondering why you are the one driving.”

Her voice stammered, and she was a little embarrassed to get caught peeking at him.

“Yeah, I drive myself…” he said playfully, looking at her meaningfully.

He thought, “How should I tell her I could not hold my usual composure after hearing her sobbing over the phone? I grabbed the keys and drove to her without even telling the driver.

“Do you really want to know?” He stared at her with a deep gaze.

Her heart seemed to skip a beat. His gaze made her at a loss, and her woman’s intuition made her feel his answer must be

related to her.

Just when she didn’t know how to react, the red light at the junction turned green. She quickly said. “It’s green”

He glanced at her and didn’t continue to talk about this topic.

The car drove to the Youngblood residence. Rosalie followed Jonathan out of the vehicle.

“When will I get Lillian’s news?” Rosalie couldn’t help asking. Although she knew that Jonathan had called someone to find out the whereabouts of her friend and only half an hour had passed at most, she still could not suppress this anxiety in her heart.

She thought, “Am I being scared? I’m afraid that Lillian would be in trouble.”

She even remembered many cases of kidnapping that she had learned when she studied law. Especially if young women were abducted, the outcome would likely be bad.

“No, Lillian would be fine!” Rosalie kept saying this to herself and stared at Jonathan with her puppy eyes, Jonathan felt as if a pitiful little animal was staring at him.

The expectations and pleading look in her eyes were visible to him at a glance.

Looking at her like this, he even had an impulse to hold her in his arms and erase those pleading and expectations in her eyes as those emotions arose because of Lillian.

He wanted her to see and care only about him.

“If you want to know, just wait by my side. If my subordinates find Lillian’s whereabouts, they will naturally come to inform me as soon as possible,” Jonathan said.

Of course, Rosalie had no problem with that. Then, she mused, ‘Just… Wait? Where should I wait with him?” Rosalie blinked, and then, five minutes later, she finally knew where they would be waiting together.

The waiting location was in Jonathan’s room.

Although this was not her first time entering his room, it was the first time she walked in through the front door of his room rather than through the door connecting the two rooms.

When Jonathan arrived at the room, he took off his coat and took out a phone. He put it on the low table beside him.

Rosalie looked at the phone and was stunned. It was still the old discounted-price phone she bought him, which cost 100 dollars. The phones others usually use were much better than his.

She thought, “Does he still use the phone despite that? If he doesn’t, how would he pick up the phone instantly when I called him today?”

However, before finding out the truth behind his phone, she caught a glimpse of him continuing to take off his clothes.

Suddenly, Rosalie’s face turned red. “You… Why do you…”

“Im getting changed” He raised his eyebrows and looked at her. “Didn’t you often see me changing clothes in the past? Is there a problem now?”

She felt suffocated. She had seen him changing clothes at the rental home, but at that time, he was only changing his

outerwear or sweater.
