The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 197

Chapter 197

The neighbor told her that Gordon and Caitlin had gone traveling, so they were not at home. As for Loretta, the neighbor said Loretta had bought a big house and rarely came back.

Hearing this, Rosalie knew Gordon and Caitlin might have done it on purpose. They probably knew she would visit her mother’s grave today, so they deliberately went out.

Her scalp numbed at the thought of her father’s request for 10 million dollars.

There was no way she could afford to pay Gordon 10 million dollars.

After bidding goodbye to the neighbor, Rosalie called Loretta’s phone number. “Where are you? There’s something I want to see you about.”

“Sorry, I don’t have time now.” Loretta’s voice came from the phone with a trace of arrogance.

“Then, I just want to ask you. Where did Dad relocate my mother’s grave?” Rosalie asked.

“I don’t know.” There was a trace of mockery in Loretta’s tone.

“Then you must know where they go traveling.”

“I’m so sorry. I really don’t know. How about this? I can tell them that you’re looking for them when they’re back,” Loretta replied.

Then, Rosalie heard a man’s voice on her phone. “This lipstick doesn’t suit you.”

Rosalie froze, as she recognized that it was Calvin’s voice.

Then, she heard Loretta reply coquettishly, “I thought you would like this color. I’ll change to another color later.”

After saying this, Loretta said to Rosalie on the other end of the line, “Alright, that’s all for now. I have something else to do.” She ended the call once she finished.

Rosalie looked at the phone in her hand and suddenly had an indescribable feeling.

She had seen Calvin a few days ago. Calvin had spoken to her at that time. However, he was now telling Loretta whether her lipstick suited her.

A man like Calvin probably said that to her because he wanted novelty. He sounded as if he had feelings for her, but he actually had feelings for many women.

Just like his former girlfriends and now Loretta.

Once he became disinterested, this man would become the most heartless man, just like how Rosalie had witnessed how ruthless he was to his ex-girlfriend.

His ex-girlfriend was a popular actress in the entertainment industry. Her future had been promising, but she had now disappeared.

Rosalie put away her phone, feeling her heart sinking non-stop. She could not afford 10 million dollars, but she could not find Gordon and Caitlin at all.

She wondered, “Even if… I could find Dad and Caitlin in a few days. Will they really tell me where Mom’s grave is? What will it cost me?”

She thought life was hard enough for her, but she did not expect that her hardship was not over.

On the other side, Calvin watched Loretta put away her phone and asked nonchalantly, “Who was it?”

“Someone’s looking for my parents, but they’ve gone traveling, so they called me,” Loretta pretended to answer casually before pressing against Calvin and adding, “Calvin, what lipstick color do you like? I’ll only apply lipstick colors that you from now on.”

Calvin frowned slightly, and his gaze fell on Loretta’s lips again. He only found the bright red color blinding.

At the same time, another natural-colored lip without any lipstick applied flashed across his mind.

The faint pink color was so natural. It made him think it was the most suitable lip color.

“Wipe it off,” Calvin said indifferently.

“What?” Loretta was stunned for a moment.

“asked you to wipe off your lipstick,” Calvin replied.

Loretta was a little dumbfounded. They were currently in the car toward the banquet. She dressed up today just to look good at the banquet. If she wiped off the lipstick, her makeup would be completely off-point. Instead of looking good, she would probably become a laughingstock when that happened.

“Now? But we’re about to reach the banquet hall…”

“Now,” Calvin interrupted her as a trace of displeasure flickered in his eyes.

Loretta had no choice. After all, she was scared to annoy Calvin. She could only bite her lips slightly, took out a tissue, and began to wipe her lips.

Calvin took out the silver bracelet again. He looked down and caressed it. His gaze was unprecedentedly gentle as if he was gazing at his lover.

At least, Calvin had never looked at Loretta with such a gentle gaze.
