The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 215

Chapter 215

Especially now, men like Jonathan who stood in positions of power were definitely surrounded by endless temptations. She knew that his feelings for her were sincere for now.

The question was, could this relationship persist in the future? Could this emotion be steadfast forever?

“I will never fall in love with others. I will only love you in this lifetime,” Jonathan declared.

Jonathan continued, “So if it’s something else and I make a mistake, you will forgive me, right?” he murmured, his voice holding traces of yearning and a dash of mischief.

“Yes,” Rosalie replied patiently.

The moment she uttered yes, she felt Jonathan hugging her tightly again. “Rosalie, don’t forget what you promised me today! Never forget it!”

It felt as though she had pledged something profoundly important, an oath that should never be forgotten nor reneged on.

In the bathroom, Rosalie looked at her blushing checks.

Even though it had been a while since she hugged and kissed Jonathan in the living room, the flush on her face still hadn’t faded.

Jonathan seemed to be a little strange tonight, but she couldn’t quite pinpoint what it was.

Perhaps it was the sudden confession of his love for her that left her genuinely taken aback.

Thinking of those words, Rosalie felt as if a surge of sweetness was dripping out from her heart, even the corners of her lips in the mirror couldn’t help but lift into a smile.

How long had it been since she felt this way?

After taking a bath, she walked out of the bathroom in her pajamas, only to find Jonathan sitting on her bed, flipping through the photo album she kept by her bedside.

The album was new, but the photos in it were from the previous album that had been burned. Some of them were already- scorched and torn.

But even so, she couldn’t bear to throw them away. She cautiously preserved these photos and put them in the album again.

“The more I look at your childhood pictures, the cuter I think you are,” Jonathan said, looking up at Rosalje.

“If you keep praising me like this, I might actually start to believe I’m a beauty,” Rosalie joked in a rare playful tone.

“To me, you are indeed a beauty.” He stared unblinkingly at her and said, “There’s no woman more beautiful than you.”

Rosalie only felt the blush that had just subsided threatening to return again. Her shimmering almond-shaped eyes met Jonathan’s, and she was momentarily at a loss for words.

“By the way, are all your childhood photos here in this album?” Jonathan asked casually.

She thought for a while and said, “I think so.” Photography wasn’t as convenient back then as it is now. Moreover, after her mother passed away, she took fewer photos, leading to a lesser collection.

Jonathan’s lips curled slightly. He said meaningfully, “Then you should take good care of these pictures. Don’t carry them around carelessly, lest they get lost.”

“Yes, I know,” she replied.

He put down the photo album, stretched out his long arm, and pulled her into his arms. He sniffed the fragrance on her body and asked in a low voice, “Did anything happen today?”

Rosalie was stunned for a moment, thinking about the dispute this afternoon and the fact that the video of her with Calvin had been posted online.

Although these videos were no longer available on the internet, she didn’t want to hide it from Jonathan deliberately. After all, they were already in a relationship now.

“Well, what happened was…” Rosalie told Jonathan directly about the dispute that happened at noon that day, including the part where Calvin intervened to help her.

However, after she finished speaking, she noticed that Jonathan’s face showed no signs of surprise or shock. She couldn’t help but ask, “You knew?”

“Yes, I’ve seen the video you mentioned,” he said.

Now, it was Rosalie’s turn to be taken aback. She hadn’t seen the video, yet he had!

“The video… There’s nothing between me and Calvin.” She instinctively wanted to clarify, fearing Jonathan might misunderstand her.

After all, from what Amelia had mentioned, many comments under the video were speculating about her relationship with Calvin when it was just uploaded.

He sat by the bed with his hands around her waist, slightly raising his jaw and looking up at her. “So, you’ve never had feelings for Calvin, right?”

“Of course not.” Didn’t Jonathan, who was sitting right in front of her, realize how much more he made her heart race?

The side of him she was seeing now was completely different from his public persona. How many people ever got to see this version of him?

“What if he has a crush on you?” His gaze seemed to grow even deeper.

“Him?” Rosalie was taken aback for a moment. She then said faintly, “He is Loretta’s boyfriend. Besides, even if he is interested in me, the person that I love will not be him.”

Jonathan squinted slightly at her words. Rosalie said “will not be him” but not just “not him.”

In other words, even if she didn’t fall in love with Jonathan, she wouldn’t have a crush on Calvin either. “Just because he is Loretta’s boyfriend?” Jonathan probed further.

“I don’t fancy men who change girlfriends frequently. I feel that such men don’t truly respect emotions. Perhaps, to them, women are just temporary diversions. He might be interested in one woman today and another tomorrow,” Rosalie said. Her impression of Calvin was more of a playboy.
