The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 234

Chapter 234

Previously, when Callum told her about what he did, she had praised him profusely. Of course, Callum had not missed the chance to flirt with her a little after the praise.

In truth, being flirted with by Callum didn’t bother her at all. In fact, she… Well, she sort of liked it.

Lillian had analyzed herself for a long time, wondering why she felt this way. Ultimately, she concluded that it might be because of Callum’s look.

After all, his looks suited her taste quite well, and she was a sucker for good looks. Who could blame her for feeling that way?

Humans were inherently visual creatures, after all.

Meanwhile, outside the car, the two men who were casting glances at each other didn’t share the same harmonious atmosphere as the two women inside.;

“I didn’t expect you to be coming along today, Mr. Youngblood,” Callum spoke up.

“Rosie is my girlfriend. Of course, her matters concern me,” Jonathan replied indifferently.

“Is that so?” Callum asked. “About that case involving Rosalie from back then, Mr. Youngblood, it seems like the person who died was your fiancée, Melanie. Do you believe Rosalie was guilty or innocent?”

Jonathan’s gaze turned icy in an instant. They were sharp as a piercing ice blade as he looked at Callum. “I will ensure justice for her.” He naturally wouldn’t let go of the people who had tried to harm Rosalie back then.

“Is that right?” Callum smiled faintly and didn’t press further. After all, he was merely an outsider in Rosalie’s case.

However, what piqued his curiosity was that even though Jonathan was now with Rosalie, he hadn’t taken any steps to help her clear her name. It was rather odd.

He wondered if it could be because of his relationship with the Hamilton family. After all, back then, Melanie had died in the car accident involving Rosalie. The Youngblood family and the Hamilton family had always had a good relationship.

“But what I didn’t expect was that Mr. White would be willing to lend a hand and help my girlfriend investigate the case. I should thank you.” Jonathan’s lips formed a smile, and the earlier icy demeanor melted away as if bathed in the warmth of a spring day. “Shall we proceed to the car? If we linger any longer, we may risk delaying our arrival.”

“All right, let’s get in,” Callum replied. He had only interacted with Jonathan once before, and that was when Jonathan had come to his villa with Rosalie to take Lillian away.

Jonathan was said to be unpredictable, and his thoughts were hard to guess. Despite being a powerful figure in Strico and controlling the vast Youngblood Group, very few people knew his preferences. Before Rosalie, the only woman associated with him was Melanie.

Other women who tried to get close to Jonathan seemed to have met unfavorable outcomes. It was truly a mystery why a man like him would take an interest in Rosalie.

In Callum’s opinion, Rosalie was just an ordinary woman.

However, at the thought of that, Callum couldn’t help but touch his nose and indulge in a bit of self-mockery.

As for himself, didn’t he, too, almost go mad for over three years searching for Lillian, an ostensibly ordinary woman? He had scoured the world and revisited the places they had once been together countless times, just like a fool.

But now, no matter how, he had finally found that heartless woman!

The two men got into the car. Since the two women were already seated in the back, Callum took the driver’s seat while Jonathan sat in the passenger seat.

As the car cruised down the road, Lillian suddenly felt that her rather old and shabby car had taken on an air of sophistication. If people knew that the CEO of the Youngblood Group and the CEO of the White Maple Group were both in her humble vehicle, they would probably be astonished.

During the journey, the two men in the front remained silent, while the two women in the back chatted away.

But most of the conversation came from Lillian, with Rosalie mostly listening.

“By the way, have you seen the recent hit TV series called ‘The King’s Lover’?” Lillian asked.

Rosalie shook her head. Her daily routine mainly consisted of work during the day, a quick browse through some news articles on the web in the evening, and then off to bed.

“It’s quite good. The plot is… Well, I won’t spoil it for you. I’ll send you the link later. And guess what? The male lead is none other than Dominic Caesar, the actor you used to adore,” Lillian said. Recently, she had again fallen under this actor’s spell because of the TV series.

Of course, she had her time of fascination with him back in the day, but she had shifted her interest to other actors when she

became engrossed in different shows.

As a fan, Lillian was definitely the type who wasn’t faithful, changing her favorite celebrity from one day to the next.

Rosalie was momentarily stunned. Dominic-how long had it been since she last paid attention to that actor? Before she went to jail, she had been a fan of him. Of course, calling herself a fan was a bit of an overstatement; she had merely contributed to the viewership ratings and occasionally purchased products endorsed by the actor.
