The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 271

Chapter 271

“It’s a pity for this dress. It’s ruined after only wearing it once,” Rosalie said regretfully. Dresses of this caliber, once they had such a large tear, even if they could be repaired, would likely require a massive effort.

“I’ll buy you a new one later,” Jonathan said. “Everything’s all right as long as you’re fine.”

Rosalie shook her head with a smile and said, “I’m fine. I’m not as fragile as you think.”

However, her smile made him feel uneasy. Although she looked petite and fragile, she had been living a difficult life all this time.

In the days they had spent together, he had come to understand her resilience more than anyone else. It was precisely because of this that he felt even more guilty.

It was his hesitation that had led her, with her seemingly delicate body, to become so resilient when she shouldn’t have needed to be.

“Sorry…” Jonathan said abruptly.

Rosalie was confused. “For what?”

“I should have acted faster to uncover the truth about your case from back then and clear your name,” Jonathan said.

“My case from back then wasn’t your fault. Why are you apologizing? I’m already happy that you’re helping me to find out the truth,” she said sincerely with trusting eyes.

“Really?” he murmured. He couldn’t help but lower his head and kiss her lips.

It was only through this kiss he could convey all his guilt and silently tell her how much he regretted it. Today’s incident, he would stand up for her, and in the future, no one would dare to speak ill of her again.

He kissed her deeply and passionately.

Rosalie passively accepted his kiss, which almost made her breathless. She struggled to remind him that they were outside the banquet hall and anyone could pass by at any moment.

Every time she tried to speak, his lips would cover hers again, swallowing all her words, plundering her sweetness.

In the end, she could hardly say a complete sentence. Her whole being seemed to be ensnared in his kiss, and she became disoriented.

Suddenly, Jonathan opened his eyes slowly. The corner of his eye glanced to the side, where Calvin and Loretta had unexpectedly emerged.

Clearly, they saw Jonathan and Rosalie kissing. Their steps involuntarily halted.

Calvin’s pupils suddenly contracted, his body stiffened, and the hand hanging at his side was continually clenched

He told himself countless times not to care about Rosalie anyone. However, he couldn’t help but feel distressed when he saw her kissing Jonathan.

Loretta looked at the scene with envy. Although she was Calvin’s girlfriend, they had never kissed each other before.

Now, Rosalie was passionately kissing Jonathan as if no one else mattered. It made her itch with frustration, wondering what about Rosalie, a woman who had been to prison, attracted Jonathan so much.

After the kiss, Rosalie gasped for breath, and Jonathan pressed her face on his chest.

“Okay, let me hold you for a while. The driver will be here soon,” Jonathan whispered gently, looking at the person in his arms. Then he turned and looked at Calvin, who was watching this scene not far away.

The gazes of the two men once again met in the air.

A moment later, a black sedan slowly approached. Jonathan withdrew his gaze and boarded the car with Rosalie, who had her back against Calvin and Loretta. She didn’t realize they were there.

Loretta pursed her red lips until the black car disappeared from sight. Then she looked up and said, “Cal…”

Just as she was about to speak, her voice was lost in her throat. At this moment, the man in front of her, his handsome face usually displaying a cold and distant expression, was now full of restraint and suppression. It was as if he was desperately holding back something, to the point where his handsome features seemed distorted.

It was as if he was suppressing his jealousy desperately!

Back at the Youngblood Residence, Jonathan checked on Rosalie again to be sure she was not injured. Only then did he feel

at ease.

“You should rest early. You have to work tomorrow,” Jonathan said.

“Okay.” Rosalie nodded. The diner will be reopened tomorrow, so she had to wake up early. “What about you?”

“I have something to take care of. I’ll go to bed later,” he responded.

Rosalie washed up and fell asleep. Meanwhile, Jonathan went to the study and called his personal assistant, Carlos.
