Chapter 330
“But what?” Jonathan raised his eyebrows and asked.
“I have many scars on my body, so the wedding dress can only be designed conservatively. If it’ll expose a large part of my skin, those scars will also be seen,” Rosalie said a little embarrassedly.
But Jonathan’s heart throbbed. “A conservative one is also great. I don’t want my bride to show too much skin in the wedding dress,” Jonathan smiled and hugged Rosalie. “I’d rather let your wedding dress wrap you tightly from head to foot. I’m a possessive person, so I don’t want others to look at your skin.”
It was something that embarrassed Rosalie, but Jonathan easily resolved the awkwardness.
“Thank you, Jon,” Rosalie murmured.
“I’m not kidding, nor am I comforting you,” Jonathan said, rubbing his lips against Rosalie’s cheek. “To me, even if you have many scars on your skin, you’re still pretty enough to make me want to occupy everything of you and even want to lock you up on an isolated island. Only I can see you. In this way, I don’t have to worry about you being taken away by others.”
Rosalie laughed. “No one will want to take me away.”
Jonathan pursed his lips but didn’t answer. Rosalie never knew how attractive she was. She had a special temperament that would make people feel comfortable as long as they stayed with her. They would feel satisfied as long as they saw her gentle smile.
For some people, it would be a fatal attraction.
Calvin was also attracted by Rosalie.
Even though Calvin had repeatedly thought that Rosalie was not the one he was looking for, he was still deeply attracted to her.
In the end, Rosalie chose a designer whose many works were in a conservative and retro style, which met her needs.
And Jonathan didn’t have any problem with that.
“By the way, will your grandfather agree to our marriage? What if he doesn’t agree?” Rosalie asked nervously.
“He may not agree, but it is our marriage. It doesn’t matter whether he agrees or not,” said Jonathan.
“But he’s still your grandfather. If he doesn’t agree, then for you…”
“For me, it doesn’t mean anything,” Jonathan interrupted Rosalie. “No matter whether my grandfather agrees or not, I will still marry you. I never think I will be happy if he agrees and I will feel sad if he disagrees.”
Rosalie looked at Jonathan in a daze as if she was stunned by his words..
“What? Is it hard to understand?” Jonathan said.
“Well… Isn’t he your grandfather?” Rosalie said carefully.
“He is my grandfather, but there’s no affection between me and him. He always hated the part of the gene of my mother in me. He just wants a successor for the Youngblood family. If I wasn’t strong enough, then he would easily abandon me and choose another person who he thought could carry forward the Youngblood family.”
Jonathan said that calmly as if he was talking about someone else’s business as a bystander.
Rosalie had met Leonard once, but her impression of him was really not good. At that time, she almost got disfigured. If Jon hadn’t come to save her in time, maybe she would still be lying in the hospital now.
But Rosalie didn’t expect that the relationship between Jon and Leonard would be like this.
When Jonathan was young, his mother disappeared from home and his father died. He lived in the Youngblood residence alone, while Leonard, the only family member of him in the Youngblood residence, simply regarded him as a successor who could be replaced at any time.
Rosalie could almost imagine how panicked and lonely young Jonathan was in this house. Even if he had a family, they didn’t have any affection at all. He even had to be worried about being replaced by others at any time.
For Jonathan, he could only keep being strong. He even couldn’t be a little bit weaker.
Because that meant he would probably be abandoned.
“Did you… suffer a lot back then?” Rosalie murmured, feeling sorry for the man in front of her.
When Rosalie heard other people mention him before, she only felt that such a superior man really had it all. He could get whatever he wanted and easily control capital.
But only until now did Rosalie know that there were no people who could born to be successful. How successful Jonathan was now meant how hard he had been before.
What Jonathan carried when he was young had gone far beyond what a child should carry.
“Not really,” Jonathan replied, gently caressing Rosalie’s eyes which were full of concern with his slender fingers.
At this moment, Rosalie’s eyes only had Jonathan in them.
“It has all passed. At least now I don’t have to worry about being replaced by someone at will,” said Jonathan. For him, he had controlled his fate himself.
“Yeah, it has all passed,” said Rosalie. She gently pressed Jonathan’s hand and rubbed her cheek against his palm. “For me, you can’t be replaced.”
Jonathan thought, “It seems that my sweet Rosalie always can make me want to cherish her more.”
“Then never forget what you said,” Jonathan murmured, bent down, and kissed her lips.
