The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 394

Chapter 394

Jonathan suddenly came up with a series of questions. His anxiety was clearly shown, which was rare.

Rosalie looked at Jonathan above her in surprise, wondering why he suddenly snapped after the silence and depression along the way back there.

Rosalie said, “Jon, let go of me! I can explain it to you.”

But Jonathan didn’t let go of her hand. Instead, he lowered his head and kissed her face feverishly for a while. He said, “Okay, I’m listening.”

But no matter what Rosalie said, Jonathan wouldn’t let go of her.

Rosalie felt that the temperature of her body seemed to be soaring as if her thoughts were affected by his kisses.

Rosalie explained, “I… I went to visit Grandma’s tomb. When I was going down the mountain, I turned to a track and went to the hill beside. I used to be there quite often when I was young so I missed it. Then I met Calvin there.”

Rosalie told Jonathan what happened as quickly as possible. She didn’t want him to misunderstand her.

But Rosalie didn’t tell him about the part where her memory was restored.

Rosalie thought she should keep it a secret forever!

Jonathan’s eyes widened. He asked, “Did you fall off the cliff?”

“Well, luckily, Calvin was there. He grabbed me. But later I passed out. When I woke up, I found him going down the mountain carrying me on his back.” Rosalie continued, “I wanted to walk on my own but I had some scratches. If I walked on my own, I would not get out of there before dark.”

Hearing this, Jonathan lifted Rosalie’s dress and saw scratches on her legs.

The scratches on her ankles were especially glaringly obvious now. Covered by the long dress, they didn’t attention. But now, he saw her ankle was swollen and had some scratches.

Jonathan said, “Why didn’t you tell me earlier?” Looking at Rosalie’s wounds, he only felt a sharp pain in the heart.

Usually, even if someone had blood all over his body and not an inch of his skin was intact, he wouldn’t feel anything.

But looking at Rosalie’s injuries, Jonathan felt so heartbroken!

Rosalie murmured, “I simply forgot.” After Jonathan saw her on Calvin’s back, he behaved differently from how he usually did. So, all Rosalie thought about was him and had forgotten her injuries.

Jonathan clamped his thin lips together tightly and the next moment, he held Rosalie up in his arms and walked into the bathroom.

The warm water gently splashed on Rosalie. Jonathan squatted down and carefully cleaned her wounds.

Jonathan stared at the scratches on her ankle and asked, “Does it hurt?”

Rosalie said, “In fact, they’re no big deals for me.” She didn’t want him to care too much about her scratches.

But Rosalie’s words made Jonathan gloomy. Of course, he knew that these bruises were nothing compared with what she had suffered before.

On Rosalie’s body were countless scars of various sizes, silently telling Jonathan what she had suffered in prison.

The more Jonathan loved her, the harder it was for him to put up with her wounds.

Jonathan didn’t even dare to imagine what exactly happened when she was tortured and injured in prison.

Jonathan lowered his head and leaned over. He kissed her injuries on the ankle.

Rosalie bit her lips slightly. “Jon, it doesn’t hurt.”

Jonathan said, “But it bothers me.”

Rosalie instantly felt heartwarming. She wanted to cry and her eyes were blurred by tears.

Finally, there was a person around her who cared about her and would feel sad because of her injuries.

He felt the same way about her injuries as she did.

Rosalie thought perhaps the best choice she had ever made in her life was to fall in love with Jonathan.

Jonathan wrapped her body with a bath towel, took her out of the bathtub, put on clean leisurewear for her, and then carried her out of the bathroom to apply ointment to the scratches.

Jonathan said, “If it hurts, just tell me.”

Rosalie answered, “Okay.”

Jonathan applied the ointment to her injuries gently like he was treating an extremely important treasure that was even more important than his own life.

After Jonathan applied ointment to all her scratches, including the redness on her wrist, he still didn’t let go of her hand. He kept staring at the redness on her wrist that had not yet faded away.

Jonathan said, “Tell me, what did Calvin say to you when he put you down and took your hand?” He raised up his head and his deep eyes met hers.

Rosalie froze, feeling as if he could read her mind.
