The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 412

Chapter 412

Matilda exclaimed hatefully, “This man is your nemesis. Every time he appears, you end up injured like this! What on earth is happening here? Did you stab yourself as he claimed?”

Amelia admitted, “Yes. Mom, I did this myself.”

“But why…”

Amelia replied bitterly, “He wants me to give him a baby. It’s preposterous. He mistreated me in the past, and revenge by demanding a child from me.”

“Does he still have feelings for you? After all, you guys were…”

now he seeks

Amelia interrupted her mother’s unrealistic fantasy, “Mom! He wanted me to have a baby just because Irene couldn’t give birth. He’s only using me. He wouldn’t have thrown me into prison if he had feelings for me.”

When Matilda heard this, her expression darkened. “This is torturous! Why are you bearing your father’s responsibility? How could Warren do this to you? You did so much for him…”

“Mom, please, let’s not dwell on it,” Amelia interjected, preventing her mother from delving further into the past. The memories of that time were like a haunting nightmare, and she longed to put them behind her. “While you’re in the hospital, where is Aiden? Where did you leave him?”

“I had Harper look after him. I was afraid to bring him to the hospital, fearing Warren might find out! But now that Warren is gone, why don’t I bring Aiden to this hospital? It would also make it easier for me to take care of you,” Matilda suggested.

“No, I-I’ll just get a nurse to take care of me in the hospital. Anyway, there are ready-made meals in the hospital. Don’t bring Aiden here or tell him about my hospitalization,” Amelia insisted, unwilling to take any chances of Warren discovering her son’s presence.

“But your injury…”

“Mom, I’ll be fine. I want to take care of you when you’re old and watch Aiden grow up!”Amelia reassured her with a forced smile, hoping to ease her mother’s concerns.

Her mother had suffered enough for her.

Nevertheless, her smile made Matilda feel sadder. How could she not know what her daughter was thinking?

After some time, the doctor and nurse arrived to provide Amelia with an update on her injury. They explained that despite the abdominal injury, it hadn’t significantly impacted her womb or uterus.

They also conveyed the news that Warren had already paid for her surgery.

“You’re fortunate this time. If the stab wound had been just an inch deeper, it could have caused serious harm to your womb,” the doctor cautioned.

Amelia smiled bitterly.

Who would have known that she really wanted to injure her womb?

She could endure Warren’s other forms of retaliation. For Aiden’s sake, she could bear it all. However, she would never agree to bear another child for him.

She thought, “What does a child mean to him? And what would Aiden mean to him?”

At night, Matilda left the hospital, leaving Amelia alone in the spacious ward.

Warren had arranged for a VIP ward, which surprised her. This time, had he really departed from her life, or would he return someday? The uncertainty lingered in her thoughts.

In the past, she had fervently wished for a future where she and Warren would never cross paths again. She had yearned for their relationship to be thoroughly and irrevocably severed.

However, it seemed like it was just her wishful thinking.

She thought, “Maybe he will take revenge on me in the future. Perhaps Strico is not a place for me to stay long…”

Three days later, Rosalie received a call from the law firm saying that she passed the interview and Lawrence Guzman had

chosen her as his assistant.

Even if it was just being a legal assistant, it meant that she had entered the legal circle again!

When Rosalie called Lillian to share the good news, she genuinely rejoiced for her friend.

“That’s great. You should do your best! I’m waiting for you to become a great lawyer in the future and treat me to dinner!” Lillian exclaimed.

Rosalie chuckled, saying, “I don’t have to be a lawyer to do that. Once I receive my first paycheck, I’ll treat you to a lavish meal

Lillian replied, “That’s a deal! I’m waiting for my big meal.”

“Okay,” Rosalie replied. It was as if her melancholy had dissipated at this moment.

Life had to go on. She thought that she could slowly move on.

She would move on from Jonathan and treat it as an absurd dream.

After ending the call, Rosalie gazed at her phone and tapped on her contacts. She noticed two mobile phone numbers were associated with Jon in her contacts.

One number was the number he got for the phone she had bought for him.

The other number was the number he usually used.

She took a deep breath and deleted the two phone numbers consecutively.
