Chapter 414
“Here, here! A toast to our new colleague, Rosalie!” A colleague raised his glass and began to make a toast.
As the main character, Rosalie was also the main target of the toast.
Rosalie was not good at drinking. After a few glasses of wine, she felt a little dizzy.
Therefore, she could only decline her colleagues’ toasts and find an excuse to go to the restroom.
When she got to the restroom, Rosalie leaned against the sink and washed her cheeks that were burning from drinking wine.
Then, she fixed her gaze on herself in the mirror. Water dripped from her hair to her forehead and cheeks. Her cheeks, small nose, and lips were rosier than usual.
As her eyes blinked slightly, her eyelashes fluttered like small fans.
She had always thought her eyelashes were quite long and beautiful. When she wore light makeup sometimes, she did not even have to apply mascara. However, after meeting Jonathan, she realized that even a man could have eyelashes more beautiful than a woman.
Rosalie thought, Jon’s eyelashes are beautiful, and they set off his captivating eyes. Every flutter of his eyelashes seemed enticing, making me unable to…
Goodness gracious, why did I think of him again?’
Rosalie shook her head suddenly and washed her face again with cold/water to wake herself up.
“Jon is gone from this world. All that’s left is Jonathan Youngblood!” Rosalie thought.
After taking a deep breath, Rosalie walked out of the restroom. Even after washing her face with cold water, she was still a little dizzy. She was probably going to get more drunk later.
Just then, her phone rang. She took it out to find Lillian calling her.
She tapped on the answer button, and Lillian’s voice came from her phone. “Rosalie, where are you? Why aren’t you at the rental home?”
“Did you… go to see me?” Rosalie asked, but she was stuttering slightly because she was drunk.
“Yeah, what happened to you? Why are you mumbling slightly?” Lillian asked.
“I drank some wine.”
“You drank? Where are you now?”
Lillian instantly became nervous. After all, Rosalie never liked drinking.
“I’m at Night Sky,” Rosalie answered.
Lillian became more nervous when she heard that. She knew that Night Sky was not an ordinary place. “I’ll come over and pick you up. Wait for me! Don’t run around!”
With that, Lillian hung up the phone.
Rosalie could not help chuckling. She wondered if Lillian thought of her as a child, but… it was nice to have someone care about her like this.
Lillian was probably the only one in this world who would care about her like that.
Just as Rosalie continued to stagger ahead, she suddenly stopped and saw a figure coming down the stairs not far ahead.
It was Jonathan!
For some reason, Rosalie felt her eyes reddening slightly.
Unlike before when she could only vaguely see an outline at most through the car window, she could see him so clearly right now.
It was so clear that her eyes were hurting.
He was dressed in a fine suit, and the bangs in front of his forehead were still combed back, revealing his full forehead. His delicate features set off his defined face. All his movements emanated with endless appeal.
Seeing that Jonathan was about to glance over at her, Rosalie subconsciously tried to duck.
However, she accidentally bumped into another person as soon as she ducked to the side.
“I’m sorry!” she quickly apologized.
“Are you fucking blind? You bumped into me! Do you know who I am?” The man Rosalie bumped into said drunkenly.
“Sorry, I didn’t mean it” All she could do now was apologize.
At the same time, she could sense someone looking at her. It was probably Jonathan.
He must have seen her making a fool of herself.
She felt a sore and bitter feeling spreading in her heart.
Her only remaining dignity and pride seemed to be acting up. Even after he broke up with her and saw her embarrass herself countless times, at least she did not want him to see her in this embarrassing and pathetic state right now.
She seemed to get more dizzy.
If possible, she hoped she could get out of there quickly.
However, the man she bumped into did not intend to let her leave so easily.
“If you really want to apologize, how about having a drink with me? I guarantee you never tried such a good wine!” the man said and tried to hug Rosalie.
Rosalie dodged and avoided his hand. She knew the man was a scoundrel, and it would be pointless to apologize to him.
Her top priority was to get out of there as soon as possible.
