The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 429

Chapter 429

“Sure,” Rosalie replied. From the information she had gathered earlier, Lucas and Larry were driving one after the other when the incident happened.

It could be said that Lucas was actually the eyewitness to the incident.

If Rosalie wanted to know more about the details of the case, she could ask Lucas.

“It’s almost time for dinner. Would you like to have dinner together?” Lucas proposed after checking the time.

“No, thank you,” Rosalie rejected with a smile. It was apparent that she deliberately kept a distance from Lucas.

Although she had no idea whether Lucas was still interested in her, she did not want to give him any false signals.

“I still have something to tell you about this case and think of talking about it during dinner later. It won’t take much time,” Lucas added.

Rosalie hesitated for a moment before replying, “In that case, let’s split the bill then.”

“No problem.” Lucas smiled bashfully.

He felt happy as long as she was willing to have dinner with him.

Lillian went to Rosalie and happened to see Rosalie alighted from a car at the entrance of the residential area of her rented place, and the driver was even a man.

However, she could only see Rosalie exchange a few words with the man with a smile, waved goodbye to him, and the car drove away after that.

Wondering what was going on, Lillian hurried toward Rosalie’s side and asked, “Rosalie, who was that man?”

Rosalie was startled by the sudden appearance of Lillian. “What are you doing here?”

“I’m here to visit you. Tell me. Who was that man who just sent you back? Both of you look quite familiar to each other.” Lillian’s urge to gossip was burning within her heart like fire.

Rosalie smiled helplessly as she replied, “He’s my ex-colleague in the Environment and Sanitation Administration, but he has left the job and become a shareholder of an automotive workshop now. I received a case today. The victim happened to be his colleague in the automotive workshop, and he himself was an eyewitness. Thus, we had dinner together, and he sent -me back after that.”

“That’s it?” Lillian looked disappointed.

“What did you expect otherwise?” Rosalie asked rhetorically.

“I thought you had a target now,” Lillian muttered.

Rosalie burst into laughter. “Lillian, I won’t get into a relationship anymore.”

Lillian suddenly paused in her tracks and looked at Rosalie in shock. “Even if you failed once, you shouldn’t-“,

“It’s not once but twice,” Rosalie corrected. “To me, it feels horrible to be dumped so easily every time. So, I don’t want to have such feelings anymore.”

Lillian felt sorry for her. “Maybe you can meet someone who really deserves your love the third time. Who knows?”

“It’s better to spend time where I truly want to rather than in love. Maybe I’m just not born to be in a relationship. Besides, you’re also aware that it’s actually very difficult for me to have children. How many men in this world are willing not to have their own children?”

Lillian suddenly embraced Rosalie. “Don’t say that about yourself. There’s no absolute thing in this world. Those who really like you and love you will certainly accept those. Also, from now on, my children will be yours. Our children will have two mothers.”

Lillian’s voice was choked with sobs. She did not like Rosalie to say those words again, as it made her feel as if the latter had been through everything in her life.

In fact, Rosalie, who was only 28 years old, was still young.

Rosalie felt a tingling sensation in her nose and hugged Lillian in return. “Sure. Your children are my child, and our children will have two mothers.”

At the same time, she thought, “Lillian is probably the only person in this world who will never give up on me. What can I do to repay her kindness? Perhaps it will never be enough, even if it takes the rest of my life to do that.”

In the next few days, Rosalie had been busy collecting information about the case and naturally had more frequent contact

with Lucas.

They had eaten together several times, but Rosalie had insisted on splitting the bills every time.

“I bet Lucas like you. In fact, I think he’s good and has a sense of righteousness.” Lillian happened to meet Lucas and even chatted with him for a while when she went to Rosalie.

Lillian had a good impression of Lucas. Although the man had an ordinary look, he was honest, reliable, and a little shy. His face would blush when he looked at Rosalie.

Such a pure man was rare nowadays.

“He’s good but not suitable for me. He can find a better match,” Rosalie said.

Because of that, even when Lillian was having dinner with Callum, she was still thinking about whether Rosalie and Lucas could get into a relationship one day.

“What are you thinking about?” A voice suddenly sounded in her ears.

Lillian was startled and came back to her senses abruptly. A beautiful face then came into her sight at close range
