The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 437

Chapter 437

Fiona wanted the rest of the film crew to understand her relationship with Calvin so that even if she was just a supporting role, she could still boss around while she was in the film crew and the director would be able to add more scenes for her.

She had planned everything well, and at first, it was going on just as she thought.

However, after Rosalie showed up, everything changed.

It was even more so when Calvin grabbed Rosalie’s wrist just now. Many people in the film crew saw it. Moreover, Calvin had already left.

Fiona could feel that the gaze of people around her had changed from envy and jealousy to mockery and sympathy.

“It’s all because of Rosalie!” she exclaimed inwardly.

She could not let Rosalie snatch Calvin away. Calvin was her hope for the rest of her life. If she wanted to have a glorious and wealthy life for the rest of her life, then Calvin would be the only chance she could seize.

The next day, Rosalie went to the prison again to look for Lina. Because of the car accident, Lina was sentenced to one-year imprisonment.

Initially, Rosalie just wanted to try her luck and see if she could find something. However, when Lina learned that Rosalie was the assistant of the plaintiff’s lawyer, the former immediately rejected her and directly told her to get out and let the court decide on everything.

Before Rosalie left, she deliberately asked Lina if it was the sudden appearance of a dog running out that startled Lina when she drove. Lina immediately replied, “It’s not a dog. It’s a cat! A yellow-gray striped cat!”

Her answer was too fast, too hurried, and too sure. She could even mention the cat’s fur pattern, which seemed to look like she was trying to convince people that there really was such a cat.

“Yes, it’s a cat. I remember it wrong.” Rosalie smiled, but an answer was already forming in her heart.

“Sure enough, there is something wrong with this matter! Lina is the only one who took the blame. The real driver should be Aubrielle!” she exclaimed inwardly.

On the way back, Rosalie continued to think about the case. Although she now had a rough conclusion in her mind, the law was all about evidence.

What she was relying on now was just the statements from the witnesses and her speculation.

This was not enough to form a chain of evidence.

Thus, she wondered what she should do in order to get the police to re-investigate the case.

When Rosalie got off the bus and almost arrived at the residential area where her rental home was located, she still could not figure anything out.

Suddenly, two people stopped her. One of them said, “You must be Rosalie.”

Rosalie was stunned and looked at the two unfamiliar faces in front of her, as well as the unkind expressions on their faces. She only felt that something did not seem right and so, she immediately said, “No.”

Unfortunately, her denial did not work. They merely smiled and said, “You’re quite smart. However, we have seen your photos. You are Rosalie!”

Then, they added, “Unfortunately, some people aren’t really that smart and merely want to do unnecessary things.”

As they spoke, the two made their moves and approached Rosalie directly.

She subconsciously wanted to escape, but was caught by the two. When she struggled and shouted, one of them yelled at the onlookers. “My girlfriend is quarreling with me. You don’t have to meddle in our business.”

The place was originally messy and there were many shady people in there. Thus, others would just treat this kind of thing as a joke.

When Rosalie was about to be dragged into a car at the side by these two men, one of them who was grabbing her was suddenly kicked to the ground with one foot. Then, just as the other man was about to do something, his collar was grabbed, and he was directly beaten to the ground.

Rosalie was stunned and staggered subconsciously, but an arm held her waist.

Then, Jonathan’s voice sounded in her ear. “What happened?”

Rosalie turned around and, in a daze, looked at his face, which was very close to her. After that, she looked at the two unfamiliar men who had been subdued by the bodyguards. She shuddered and quickly came back to her senses. “I don’t know them.”

Jonathan frowned. “Don’t you know them?”

“No,” she answered. Then, she looked at him and added, “Why are you here?”

“I’m here to see you.” As he spoke, he glanced at one of the men, who was already lying on the ground and screaming in pain. Then, he looked at her again. “Just now, this man seemed to say that he is your boyfriend, didn’t he?”

His deep voice was full of danger.

“I said I don’t know them. How could this man be my boyfriend?”

Jonathan smiled and said, “Yes, you’re right. I suppose I was asking an unnecessary question.”

After saying that, he walked to the man lying on the ground and stepped directly on the man’s heart. The man immediately screamed again.

“There are some things that you shouldn’t say. Her boyfriend? Do you even deserve to be one?” His cold voice sounded bloodthirsty.

The man almost fainted in pain and yelled with all his strength, “I-I’m not. I’m not. I was talking nonsense! I’m not her boyfriend!”

Rosalie looked at Jonathan in a daze. The way he acted now reminded her of the first time they met each other and when he

saved her.
