Chapter 444
When Jonathan lived with Rosalie previously, they also had such a conversation.
Back then, she had answered, “Yes, of course. I like you, Jon!” Rosalie grinned. It was a drunken smile, but her answer was exactly the same as before.
At that moment, she seemed to return to the time when they got along because she was drunk. Back then, she was Rosie, and he was Jon.
“So if I were a good boy, would you be willing to be my Rosie?” Jonathan wanted Rosalie to stay with him with that identity.
Although Jonathan could not give Rosalie love, he could give her something else.
He could fulfill all her dreams and ambitions. Jonathan could make those who looked down on Rosalie kneel before her and let her become a person above all others.
He could do it as long as Rosalie would stay with him.
Perhaps only in that way would Jonathan feel less uncomfortable.
Rosalie murmured, “Okay, but… I’m always your Rosie. Jon, don’t be afraid. I will… protect you…,will protect you…”
Her eyelids gradually drooped as she spoke, and her voice became lower. In the end, her head tilted, and she fell asleep.
Jonathan gently helped her lie down, covered her with the thin quilt, and raised his hand to stroke her messy hair.
“If you really want to protect me, just stay by my side. In this way! I won’t feel pain,” murmured Jonathan in a low voice. The palm of his left hand was slowly placed on his chest where his heart was.
Jonathan once thought that as long as he did not love Rosalie, his emotions would not be controlled by her anymore. His destiny could also be controlled by himself.
However, it turned out he could not stand it even when Rosalie left.
He wanted to keep her by his side and always see her.
He would not love her but wanted to see her.
Seeing Lillian’s drunken state, Callum directly dismissed the idea of sending her home.
Callum thought, “At least she should have a hangover remedy soup. Then, I’ll send her back when she’s awake. Besides, the vest she’s holding has to be dealt with!”
Thinking of that, Callum glanced at the vest with resentment. He had never seen Lillian hold onto his clothes like a treasure before.
However, she was pretty eager to grasp another man’s clothes.
Callum drove to his mansion and brought Lillian inside.
“Make a bowl of hangover remedy soup,” ordered Callum to the housekeeper.
“Yes,” answered the housekeeper. Before leaving, she looked curiously at Lillian, who had flushing red cheeks and a vest in
her hands.
She mused, “Mr. White doesn’t look right. Did Ms. Quinn do something?”
The housekeeper had been working there for more than a year. During that period, Callum, in her eyes, usually masked his emotions well, and others could not figure out what he was thinking,
However, Callum’s calmness seemed to have shattered whenever he dealt with Lillian’s matters
People could understand his emotions at a glance.
The housekeeper went to prepare the hangover remedy soup. Callum let Lillian sit on the couch and said, “I’ll drive you home after you have the hangover remedy soup.”
However, Lillian muttered, “I don’t want to go home. I want to keep watching the show. Y-You send me back. I want to see the handsome men…”
Callum was agitated by her words. “Handsome men? Lillian Quinn, I haven’t even settled the scores with you. You said you had to work but went to that kind of bar. I spoiled you too much and made you this bold!”
Lillian winced a little. Although she was drunk, she still knew that it was her fault.
“H-How did you find me? I-I didn’t tell you I was going to the bar!” murmured Lillian as if she was still dissatisfied.
“What do you think?” Callum snorted angrily. If it were not for the picture she posted on Instagram, Callum would not have found out.
Lillian whined.
“Give me this vest,” said Callum. He was annoyed to see her holding a vest that another man had worn.
“No! This is… I snatched it after a lot of effort!” Lillian immediately shook her head and clutched the vest even tighter.
“Snatched
it?” pondered Callum. Then, he laughed out of anger. “Why did you snatch the vest?”
“As a souvenir… of course. You don’t even know how handsome they are.”
“Oh? How handsome are they?” His voice sounded with a hint of danger. Callum approached her and placed his hands on the couch beside her, trapping her.
“They’re… truly handsome! Energetic… Charming…” She almost could not speak properly.
Lillian could not think of any good adjectives in her drunken mind.
“So, are they charming? Or am I charming?” Callum’s face came close to her. He smiled charmingly, making his dashing appearance even more gorgeous.
