The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 499

Chapter 499

“Jonathan, when are you going to end this?” Rosalie asked in a low voice.

Jonathan’s movement paused slightly. He lifted his head, looked at her, and smiled at her just as he had when they had first

met in her rental home.

“Rosie, there will never be an end between you and me!” he uttered.

He would never allow her to end her relationship with him.

Rosalie had a difficult time falling asleep that night because too much had happened. The next day, when she arrived at the law firm, Lawrence looked at her and inquired, “Is everything okay yesterday? Are you really not injured?”

The call was abruptly cut off when he called her the day before. He attempted to call her again but was unsuccessful, which caused him to become anxious for a long time and consider calling the police.

Fortunately, she called him after that and told him what happened. Only then was he relieved.

“I’m fine,” Rosalie said. “Later, I will check in with the police to see how their investigation is going.”

“That is not necessary. I already went to the police station this morning,” Lawrence stated. “The man who attacked you yesterday was a fan of Aubrielle. He was the mastermind behind the previous two attacks. He paid for people to attack you. Furthermore, I have requested that the police find someone to act out the speculation you mentioned to me yesterday. In the end, they concluded that the person wearing the ruby ring at that time should be in the driver’s seat.”

Hearing that, Rosalie was overjoyed because that proved that Aubrielle was the real driver.

“But did the man who attacked me yesterday admit that he was also the one who attacked me twice previously?” she asked in confusion.

“No, it’s said that an investigation report was sent to the police station last night with detailed evidence of that man looking for people online to deal with you,” Lawrence explained.

Rosalie was stunned. “Who sent the investigation report to the police?”

“The police didn’t reveal it,” Lawrence said.

Rosalie lowered her head and thought, “Usually in this case, it must be that the person who provided the information is unwilling to let their information be leaked, so the police kept it confidential. And the only person who knew that I had been attacked twice was Jonathan. I was assaulted once at the entrance to the residential area of my rental home. The other time, I was kidnapped by those two men. So, could it be that Jonathan was the one who provided the police with the investigation report?”

“Because of the new findings, the court session will be delayed. We will add Aubrielle as a new defendant, and the police have also reopened the investigation. This time, there should be no problem,” Lawrence remarked.

Hearing that, Rosalie showed a smile on her face. Finally, there was hope for Larry’s medical expenses.

“You did a good job this time, and you are good at deducing the truth from details.” Lawrence looked at Rosalie with a trace of regret in his eyes. “With your qualifications, it is a shame you are only a legal assistant.”

Rosalie smiled faintly. “I didn’t give up being a lawyer again. I thought it was better to accumulate more experience.”

She knew that, given her own experience of being wrongfully imprisoned, the customers would abandon the idea of hiring. her as their representative lawyer as soon as they heard it.

After all, if a lawyer was unable to prove their innocence and was wrongfully imprisoned, their abilities were bound to be called into question.

As a result, even if she had a lawyer’s license, she would not get any clients if she really wanted to take on cases.

“It is great that you are optimistic,” Lawrence said. “In the future, I will delegate some minor cases to you. You can build a reputation first, which will benefit you in the future.”

“Thank you,” Rosalie responded.

After Rosalie left Lawrence’s office, the receptionist told her that Lucas had been waiting for her for quite some time.

Rosalie went to the reception room and saw Lucas.

Meanwhile, Lucas immediately became a little uneasy when he saw Rosalie, and his face turned red. He appeared to have something to say but was unsure how to express it.

“What’s the matter? If you have anything to say, just tell me,” Rosalie urged.

“I-I heard today that Larry’s case is making good progress. It seemed that Aubrielle would be the other defendant! Larry’s parents told me that Mr. Guzman called them and told them that it was all because of the clues you noticed. I came here today to thank you,” Lucas hurriedly piped up.

“It was because you remembered Aubrielle was wearing a ruby ring that day. That was how I came up with the critical point.” Rosalie smiled and said, “I should be the one to thank you.”

Lucas smiled and then queried hesitantly, “By the way, is Mr. Youngblood, who came to the police station yesterday, the younger brother you mentioned before?”

Rosalie’s body tensed up slightly, but she didn’t want to lie and hide anything from Lucas. “Yes.”

“He is Jonathan Youngblood, right? I heard Mr. Gunner call him Jonathan yesterday,” Lucas said.
