The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 523

Chapter 523

“Not… not yet. I’m just wondering if I’m pregnant.” Lillian quickly clarified, her discomfort evident as she squirmed under his gaze. She added meekly, “My period is overdue this month.”

He took a moment to reflect, his thoughts swirling as he considered the situation. “If that’s the case, there’s a real chance she might be pregnant. But if she is, then I…” he mused silently.

Callum responded, “We can confirm that tomorrow with a blood test at the hospital.”

Feeling a bit nervous about the prospect of a hospital visit, she suggested, “I don’t think that’s necessary. We can simply purchase a pregnancy test kit.”

Callum looked at her speechlessly. “Afraid of needles?”

She nodded honestly, then added, “If we happen to pass by a pharmacy or drugstore, could you help me pick up a pregnancy test kit? Maybe even a few from different brands, just to be safe.”

Hence, when Callum arrived at the pharmacy and proceeded to purchase every pregnancy test kit available on the shelves, the cashier gave him a peculiar look. It left Callum feeling rather uncomfortable, as if he was a pervert.

Upon returning to the car, he handed all the pregnancy test kits to Lillian.

Lillian became completely engrossed in examining the array of pregnancy test kits, even going as far as taking out the instruction manuals to read them carefully, her expression filled with curiosity and excitement.

However, when they arrived at Callum’s mansion, and the moment to perform the actual test arrived, she suddenly felt a wave of nervousness wash over her once more.

“Gosh, Callum, what should I do? I’m really nervous!” Lillian couldn’t help but reach out and grab Callum’s hand for support.

As she held his hand, she noticed that his palm was also sweaty, which prompted her to give him a surprised look. “You… Are you nervous too?” she asked.

“Indeed, I am,” Callum admitted, his voice tinged with unease.

It was a level of nervousness he had never experienced before. Even during his final, desperate counterattack to secure his position as the head of the White family, he hadn’t felt this jittery.

Surprisingly, he was actually nervous because of the possibility of her being pregnant.

As Callum’s nervousness grew, Lillian, surprisingly, began to feel less anxious. “Okay, there’s no need to be nervous. It’s just a pregnancy test. Just wait for me here!” She ended up comforting him instead.

After reassuring Callum, Lillian marched into the bathroom with a casual and confident demeanor.

Callum stood by the bathroom door, his gaze fixed on his own hands, and couldn’t help but put on a bitter smile. In the he would never have believed that he would one day be this nervous about such a situation.

However, at that moment, his unease was palpable.

He thought, “It would be great if she’s really pregnant. That way, I’d be able to keep her close by my side, even if… even if that means I’m using the child to my own advantage!”

past,

Nevertheless, at the same time, he harbored a fear that she might indeed be pregnant. Given the current circumstances, if she were to become pregnant, she might inevitably become entangled with the White family.

“And the White family now…” he mused, feeling a sense of concern wash over him.

As Callum grappled with his conflicting emotions, Lillian pushed open the bathroom door. However, she didn’t fully emerge; instead, she poked her head out and said, “Um… I don’t think I’m pregnant. It looks like I’ve just gotten my period.”

Callum was momentarily stunned, taking a moment for Lillian’s words to fully register in his mind.

He pondered, “Not pregnant?” While a hint of disappointment crossed his mind, he also considered that perhaps, for the time being, this was the best outcome.

He almost put her in danger because he had been too careless and didn’t take contraceptive measures.

“Are you disappointed?” Lillian murmured meekly, her voice barely audible.

Callum smiled and reassured her, saying, “It’s perfectly fine. We can always plan for a child a few years later. All right, you

can come out now.”

“I can’t!” Lillian exclaimed, wearing a troubled expression. “My period is here, but I didn’t bring any pads with me. Could you please help me buy some pads?”

Callum’s expression suddenly froze. “Buy pads?” This was the second time his voice had faltered tonight.

Lillian replied with a hint of humor, “Yeah, or do you want me to come out all ‘bloodily”?” She emphasized the word

Callum nodded and said, “I’ll have the servant go and buy it for you.”

Lillian quickly interjected, “Wait! It’s a bit embarrassing to ask the servants to buy this kind of thing. Would you mind getting it for me? You know, back when I was in school, I used to envy those girls with boyfriends who helped them buy pads. I even imagined having my boyfriend in the future do that for me.”

Callum found it a bit perplexing. He couldn’t quite grasp why someone would envy having a boyfriend who would help buy sanitary pads, let alone fantasize about it in the future.

“Are pads really that important?” he pondered silently to himself.

However, Callum felt himself relenting when he saw her hopeful expression.

Hence, he could only say, “All right, wait for me.”

“Sure!” Lillian smiled sweetly and added, “Help me buy night-use pads from Whisper, please.”

Callum couldn’t quite find the words to describe his own feelings at that moment.
