Chapter 530
So the executives were on pins and needles, each with their own speculations.
After about ten minutes, Jonathan finally put the phone down and said coldly, “Go on!”
Lest they would inadvertently provoke Jonathan, the senior executives continued the previous discussion warily with. carefully chosen words and exceptionally soft voices.
Carlos looked at Jonathan’s gloomy face and complained in his heart because he saw what Jonathan was looking at just now, which was exactly why he became even more afraid than before.
Carlos thought, “Why did those two bodyguards send the photos of Calvin and Rosalie together to Mr. Youngblood? Didn’t they know that he would be upset if he saw them? If they must send photos anyway, why didn’t they at least choose some ordinary ones? Why did they have to send photos of Calvin and Rosalie being so close, with Rosalie holding Calvin’s arm and putting a bandage on him? Not to mention, those photos were beautifully taken, especially the one with Rosalie and Calvin staring at each other. It was like a screenshot from a drama series.”
Carlos thought deeply that in the future when choosing bodyguards for Rosalie, it might be better to choose those with poor photography skills. All he could do now was pray that Jonathan wouldn’t be angry, or else his rage would cause a shock in Strico.
“Rosalie, it seems that your guess was correct. There’s indeed someone behind the three thugs from before.” Lillian called Rosalie, telling her what she had found out after asking Callum for help to investigate the matter.
Rosalie was taken aback, thinking, “As expected!”
“Try to take a guess. Who instructed those three?” Lillian beat around the bush.
“It’s either the York family or the Fletcher family, but I feel that it’s more likely to be the latter,” Rosalie said. In her opinion, Warren wouldn’t use such dirty tricks against Amelia even when he had a grudge against Amelia. His moves would have been much smarter and more brutal if he wanted to deal with Amelia. That was why Rosalie thought it was most likely Irene.
“H-How did you guess that?” Lillian exclaimed in shock.
Rosalie thought for a moment and then replied, “I think Irene is more cunning.”
Rosalie had looked through the case files from the past and learned that Amelia had been incarcerated for pushing Irene -down the stairs, causing her to suffer a miscarriage. As a result, Amelia was convicted of intentional harm.
As for the so-called “assault” process, it was claimed that the two had an argument on the stairs, and then Amelia had given Irene a slight push and caused Irene to roll down the stairs.
The staircase where the incident occurred wasn’t very high, and according to the medical report submitted by the hospital, Irene had almost no visible injuries, at most a few scrapes and bruises. However, it had resulted in a miscarriage and permanent infertility, which were serious consequences.
Moreover, Irene’s attending physician had resigned from the medical profession after Amelia’s case was closed, and it was unclear where that person was now.
In Rosalie’s opinion, Irene’s moves hadn’t been smart. But strangely enough, Warren had believed what Irene had said and had testified against Amelia in court.
Rosalie wondered, “Now that Irene has suddenly stirred up this issue again, could it be related to the custody battle for Aiden?” After finishing the call with Lillian, she did not go back directly and instead went to where Amelia had set up a food cart at night.
At that moment, Amelia was already busy at the food cart. When she saw Rosalie, Amelia greeted her warmly, “Why are you here today?”
“I didn’t have much to do in the evening, so I came to see you,” Rosalie replied. “Has anyone come to give you trouble lately?”
Amelia’s expression changed slightly. Rosalie noticed and asked again, “Has someone been here to cause you trouble?”
“It’s okay. I have reported the previous incidents, and the police have been patrolling here at night for the past two days. However…”
A few rough-looking individuals approached the cart before Amelia could finish her words. As soon as they arrived, they drove away
the existing customers with intimidating looks and ordered some dried fruits. Each of them took an available table, leaving no empty ones.
Amelia had only set up four folding tables. After those guys did that, there were no more empty tables. When some customers attempted to share tables, they were frightened away by those people’s hostile words.
Rosalie frowned. “Are these people causing trouble like this?”
Amelia smiled bitterly and said, “That’s right. Only some takeout orders can keep the business going now. Even the police can’t do much about these troublemakers. If things don’t improve, I might have to relocate my cart in a couple of days.”
“It seems that the previous arrest of the three troublemakers and taking them to the police station did not solve the real problem. Irene must have sent these people! To resolve this matter directly, I might have to confront Irene myself. But she’s not in Strico now. Even if I go to her city, there’s no guarantee I’ll be able to meet her,” Rosalie thought.
The next day at the law firm, Rosalie continued to think about Amelia’s situation.
