The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 619

Chapter 619

The soft lights fell on him, making his handsome face look less grim and gentler.

Rosalie felt a hint of bitterness in her heart at that thought. At that point, she wondered if Jonathan would still be gentle to her. He chose to marry her merely for the sake of his child.

“You’re back. Have you visited Lillian at the hospital?” Jonathan put the book on the coffee table beside him.

“Yes,” replied Rosalie. She glanced at the book on the coffee table but almost choked on her saliva.

The book’s title was “Good Mood Every Day Through Pregnancy”. It should be a book about how women spend their pregnancy. Rosalie mused, “Jonathan… was reading a book like that?”

Rosalie was a little surprised.

“I asked the housekeeper to make some oatmeal for you. Have some first. In the hospital earlier, you woke up and didn’t eat much,” said Jonathan before ordering the housekeeper to serve the oatmeal.

Rosalie did not refuse. Even if she had no appetite, she was not alone and had the baby in her belly. Even the doctor said that she was a little malnourished. It was naturally unfavorable for the development and growth of the baby inside her.

At that moment, Rosalie regretted that she ate simply when she was busy. She had to admit that it was lucky when the child stayed well in her belly after such a car accident.

After a while, the housekeeper served the oatmeal, and Rosalie had it in small bites. While she was eating, Jonathan kept watching beside her.

His gaze made her feel a little awkward. Rosalie could only find a topic to try to resolve the awkwardness. “This oatmeal…. isn’t bad. Don’t you want some?”

“No,” refused Jonathan lightly.

Then, the atmosphere turned awkward again.

Rosalie continued to lower her head and eat the oatmeal in front. Just as the oatmeal was about to be finished, Jonathan’s voice suddenly sounded again. “We’ll get a marriage certificate tomorrow.”

Rosalie almost spat out the oatmeal before she could swallow it. She struggled to swallow the oatmeal and looked at Jonathan with wide eyes. “C-Certificate?”

“What? You don’t want to? Do you regret now what you said in the hospital; that you promised to get married?” Jonathan immediately frowned and stared at Rosalie with a strong sense of oppression.

Rosalie only felt that Jonathan seemed to be terrifying. If she admitted it, he looked like he would make her suffer.

I won’t back on my word!” She hurriedly said, “No! I don’t regret it. Since I’ve told you I want to marry you, The sense of oppression around her suddenly weakened, and the sense of danger around Jonathan was gradually fading

away.

Jonathan stood up, walked to her, raised his hand, and gently touched the bit of oatmeal on her lips. Then, he put it into his

mouth.

“It seems that this oatmeal is really as good as you mentioned,” commented Jonathan.

Rosalie blushed involuntarily. It was just an ordinary action. When Jonathan did it, it was so seductive and full of temptation. Then, he leaned down, and his pleasant voice sounded near her ear. “Do you know? It was fortunate that you just claimed you wouldn’t go back on your word. Otherwise, I really don’t know what I’d have done. I might… perish together with you.”

His words were as if he was questioning himself.

Rosalie would never know how nervous Jonathan was when he asked if she regretted it. He even felt his heartbeat and breathing hitched.

Rosalie’s body trembled, and Jonathan’s voice continued to sound near her ear. “Rosalie, this time, you can’t regret it. I’ll never give you a chance to. From now on, you can only be my wife!”

Rosalie took a deep breath, met Jonathan’s eyes, and said determinedly, “I won’t regret it!” Besides, she had no room for regret.

Rosalie’s bedroom was still in the same room. The room next to hers was Jonathan’s. There was a door between the two bedrooms to facilitate the access.

Looking at the familiar room, Rosalie had a mixed feeling.

The furnishings in the room were still the same as before. Even those clothes, bottles, and jars Rosalie did not take back then were still placed there.

“Check the things you want to move to my room. You can ask the housekeepers to help you,” said Jonathan. After seeing the

surprise flash across Rosalie’s face, he parted his thin lips and asked, “Do you think we’ll sleep in separate rooms after getting married?”

Rosalie bit her lip slightly. “I know that if we get married, we should sleep together. But I’m pregnant now. Can I sleep in this room alone? After the baby is born-”

Jonathan interrupted, “What if I don’t want to?”

“But the baby…” Her face suddenly turned pale. Rosalie only wanted to protect the child she had finally got and did not want to risk losing her child at all. “Jonathan, you can do whatever you want after the baby is born. But at least when I’m pregnant, let me sleep in this room alone, okay?”
