The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 669

Chapter 669

“Amelia, what happened? Why do you suddenly plan to give up Aiden’s custody?” Rosalie asked.

“The chance of winning the lawsuit is small. Moreover… As you can see, I’m managing a food cart now and can’t make much money. More money will be needed to cover Aiden’s needs in the future. If he follows me, he won’t be able to enter a good school, and I don’t have extra money for him to attend any extracurricular classes either. Even food and clothing I can provide him will only be the worst.”

“I can provide Aiden with those needs! You see. I like Aiden very much and treat him as my godson,” Rosalie hurriedly said.

“Thank you, Rosalie.” Amelia forced a smile. “You already helped me a lot, but… I might accept your kindness if Aiden had no father. But since he has one, and his father can provide him a better life, I’ll just let him follow his father.”

“But Amelia, are you willing to give Aiden’s custody to him?” Rosalie asked. Since she was pregnant, she could feel the blood connection between a child and its mother, not to mention Amelia had raised Aiden for four years.

“Even if I’m reluctant, I have to do that. I only want to choose the best way for Aiden and hope he can understand my painstaking efforts in the future,” Amelia murmured.

“You think that’s the best way, but it may not be the way Aiden likes. Does Aiden know that he will live with Warren in the

uture?”

“I haven’t told Aiden yet. I’ll hand him to Warren in three months and plan to talk to him when the time comes.” Amelia wanted to spend the last three months with Aiden happily and requested, “Rosalie, could you please keep this from Aiden?”

Amelia’s eyes were filled with a begging look.

Rosalie said, “Amelia, there’s no need for you to take this approach yet. I already told Jon to find the attending physician who performed an abortion for Irene after she fell off the stairs back then. As long as Irene was not pregnant with Warren’s child at that time, I have the confidence to prove that you were framed.”

Yet, Amelia’s expression remained unchanged after she said that. “It doesn’t matter anymore whether I was framed.”

“How can it be doesn’t matter? Amelia, do you want to live on that allegation for the rest of your life?” Rosalie asked.

Amelia lowered her gaze and thought, “Will it be forever? Perhaps I’m destined to bear that allegation in this life.”

“Rosalie, thank you for everything you have done for me, but… That’s enough. I made the decision to give Aiden’s custody to Warren after thinking it through, not on impulse. But…” She paused before continuing with a hint of pleading in her tone, “If Aiden needs your help in the future, I hope you can give him a hand.”

“Of course, I will help Aiden if he needs it, but…”

No matter what Rosalie said, Amelia was still firm in her decision and did not mean to change it. Seeing that, Rosalie could only give up persuading her for the time being.

At night, Rosalie kept thinking about Amelia’s words and could not fall asleep.

“What’s the matter? You can’t sleep?” Jonathan, who was lying beside her, asked.

-“Did I wake you up?” said Rosalie.

“No,” Jonathan replied. In truth, he would wait for her to fall asleep every day before he drifted off to sleep. “Are you thinking about Amelia?” “Yeah,” she answered. “What do you think about Amelia suddenly change her mind and stop fighting for Aiden’s custody?”

“Maybe it’s just like what she said. Giving Aiden’s custody to Warren will be the best choice for Aiden,” Jonathan said.

Rosalie heaved a sigh upon hearing that. “Anyway, you’d better continue to find that attending physician for me. Maybe Warren will be willing to give Aiden’s custody to Amelia after we have found the doctor and unraveled the truth. Everyone will be delighted then.”

“No problem. You should rest early, and don’t think too much,” Jonathan replied.

“Well… I’m a little hungry,” Rosalie suddenly said.

“Let me ask someone to make some food for you.” Jonathan got up as he spoke.

“No need. It’s already late. It’s not good to wake them up to make some food, and… I feel like eating fruit soup now. I’ll go to the kitchen and make it myself,” Rosalie said.

“I’ll make it for you,” Jonathan suggested.

“You?” Rosalie was stunned by his words.

“It’s just a fruit soup and doesn’t take a long time,” he said.

In the end, Rosalie left the bedroom with Jonathan and went to the kitchen.

Rosalie sat on the chair at the kitchen bar counter and watched Jonathan take out the fruit from the refrigerator, peel it, cut it into pieces, and then start to prepare soup. A smile crept on her face.

The man before her seemed to carry more flavor of life. It was as if the distance between him and her was slowly closing, which was different from that feeling of him being high and mighty.

Rosalie held her chin with both hands and silently stared at Jonathan, who was busy cooking. She liked such a peaceful and heartwarming life very much.
