Chapter 692
“Mommy, can we take more photos with Daddy today?” Aiden voiced out while they were collecting the entrance tickets.
Amelia was stunned. “I can help snap more photos of you and Daddy together.”
“I want photos with both of you in it,” Aiden clarified.
“A group photo together? I doubt Warren would be willing to do so even if I agreed.” Amelia mulled over it silently.
“Is the reason we can’t have a group photo because you and Daddy are divorced?” Aiden questioned sullenly. “But I have classmates who have many photos with their divorced parents as well.”
Aiden had a forlorn look on his face as he spoke.
Amelia raised her hand and caressed her son’s head. After pondering for a while, she said, “Mommy will take more pictures of you and Daddy before taking a group photo with all three of us, all right?”
“Okay.” A smile reappeared on Aiden’s face as he nodded eagerly.
Amelia sighed internally as she took in her excited son. All she did on this day was to fulfill Aiden’s wishes. As such, she would try her best to at least get a group photo of them together as a family.
Warren walked toward them just then, and Aiden naturally stretched his hand out to him.
Warren couldn’t help feeling nonplussed as he stared at the tiny hand reaching for him.
“Aiden just wants to go hand in hand with you into the amusement park,” Amelia explained her son’s behavior from the side.
Aiden blinked his inky eyes and sought permission innocently, “Can I?” A mix of excitement and anxiety was visible on his face as if he feared Warren would refuse.
However, he grinned widely in the blink of an eye once more when Warren extended his hand to clasp his.
Aiden was smack in the middle of Amelia and Warren, who held either side of his hands. The trio looked like any ordinary family visiting the amusement park just then.
Everything in the amusement park fascinated Aiden, even though it

wasn’t his first visit, and every turn and corner was full of surprises.
A child was so easily satisfied. While observing her gleeful son, Amelia couldn’t help thinking about how difficult it would be to reach fulfillment as one grew older and their wants increased.
Amelia hesitated when Aiden tugged her hand hoping that she and. Warren would ride the merry-go-round with him.
One was required to sit on a wooden carriage that rotated on its tracks. It was considered a more thrilling ride among those suitable for children of Aiden’s age group.
Amelia wouldn’t have minded accompanying Aiden in the past, but she wasn’t sure if her body could still handle it in its current state.
“Mommy?” Aiden looked at her expectantly.
“What’s wrong? Didn’t you say you would do anything for your son? Can’t you even join him on this ride?” Warren remarked caustically.
Amelia’s body stiffened. After a while, she agreed to Aiden, “Okay, I’ll ride the merry-go-round with you.”
Aiden let out a whoop of joy.
It wasn’t until their turn to get on to the ride that Amelia realized it spun slightly faster than she anticipated based on her observation from outside.
Amelia was overcome with the urge to vomit even though she’d eaten little as of late due to her sickness. The spot around her liver also began aching again.
Aiden’s child-like exclamations were full of elation, and she knew he was on cloud nine.
She gripped the armrest tightly and stiffened her body into an upright position to suppress her discomfort as much as possible. Little did she know that Warren’s gaze was trained on her.
The speed at which the ride was spinning was nothing to Warren. Warren even considered accompanying Aiden on such a childish ride a brand-new experience.
The unexpected sense of delight and pride that welled up in his heart upon hearing the cheers of his son was foreign to him.
“Or is this what blood ties feel like? Am I capable of feeling such emotions since Aiden is my son?” Warren thought. After all, he’d never
been fond of children.
Warren noted Amelia’s deathly pale face and deeply furrowed brows on her sweat-lined forehead. He could tell that she was holding it in. While the ride was enjoyable for Aiden, it caused her nothing but distress.
He abruptly began to slightly regret what he’d said to her.
Amelia spoke to Aiden with much effort after the ride finally ended, “Mommy needs to use the restroom for a minute. You wait here with Daddy.” With that, she stumbled to the restroom and dry-heaved into the sink.
She hadn’t eaten anything before coming out. Hence, nothing was disgorged from her gut.
Aiden didn’t detect anything off about her when she emerged from the bathroom, and he yammered on about riding the Ferris Wheel. Warren, on the other hand, saw through Amelia.
“How are you?” He didn’t even know whether asking after her meant he was concerned about her.
