Warren walked to Irene and stared pointedly at her. “So this time, you were pregnant with Brayden’s child. You also know that the baby was his, so you deliberately caused a miscarriage in such a way that you could get rid of the fetus and frame Amelia, right?” 

Compared to Irene’s agitation when she spoke, Warren’s voice and tone were incomparably calm. 

However, this calmness was just like an illusion that concealed a turbulent underground current. Once the illusion was gone, the turbulence was going to destroy everything in its wake.

Warren then said, “Perhaps you want me to call the doctor who operated on you and force him to tell me how far along the pregnancy was? How old was the fetus then? Or maybe you’d like me to find evidence of how much money you spent to bribe that doctor so that all of this is made clear?” 

Irene knew that Warren already had doubts. As long as he actually investigated this, Warren was definitely going to find clues. Irene suddenly hugged Warren and said with choked sobs, “Warren, I just love you too much. I love you! I-I was a-afraid that you would dislike me because of this, so that’s why I didn’t tell you!” Irene then added, “But I-I’m also a victim, and I didn’t mean to frame Amelia. That day, I really fell down because she pushed me, and happened to have an abortion!” 

“Warren, please forgive me. In the past, no matter what I did wrong, you would forgive me, right?” begged Irene. “We’ve been together for all these years, and you swore you would protect me and love me for the rest of my life!” 

The sobbing didn’t arouse the slightest pity or compassion in Warren. If anything, he felt nothing but mockery. 

“Forgive you?” Warren suddenly sneered and violently shoved Irene away. 

Irene stumbled and hit the wall on one side. Before she could come back to her senses, Warren’s hand suddenly grabbed her neck. His cold expression suddenly turned into some kind of rage, like a mercurial shift from ice to fire. 

“Irene, how on earth am I supposed to forgive you?” Warren roared. “Why did you lie to me? Why did you lie to me, claiming that you donated bone marrow to me? It was not you at all! Why did you lie to me about this, when you clearly refused to donate it to me?”

“I…” Irene tried to defend herself, but her throat was constricted and she could hardly say anything. 

Seeing this, Thomas and Ivy screamed and shouted for Warren to stop, but they couldn’t get close to their daughter at all. 

Warren’s heart was filled with anger. If it weren’t for the woman in front of him, then maybe everything would have been different. 

Maybe if he had investigated who the bone marrow donor was, Warren’s encounter with Amelia would have been different. 

“Why? Why did you do this? Is it because you were after the glory and wealth that the York family can provide?” Warren kept asking why over and over again. Irene’s face turned from red to purple and her tongue began to loll out. If she continued, she would have been strangled alive just like this.

Warren finally came to his senses and loosened his grip. 

Irene’s legs went weak as she collapsed to the ground.

This woman pushed Warren into hell with her lies. 

But now, he wanted Irene to spend the rest of her life repenting of this crime. After walking out of the ward, Warren felt like his heart was being squeezed by something heavy, which made him breathless. 

Warren hated Irene for deceiving him, and Irene’s schemes to set Amelia up. He even hated how he managed to get himself into this mess. 

The Fletcher family started to talk about how he metaphorically stabbed the woman who had saved his life with an invisible knife. 

When he stepped into this ward, the scene of him forcing Amelia to kneel and beg for forgiveness in this ward flashed in his mind. 

The sound of her hands hitting the ground seemed to reverberate in his ears, causing him to feel a stinging pain. 

Why was he so cruel at that time? 

Did he really do it for Irene? Or was he in fact trying to hide his concern for Rosalie by hurting her?
