The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 717

Chapter 717

As Amelia talked, she tried to pull her clothes back from Warren’s hand. But now, Warren wouldn’t let go of her.

He was afraid that if let her go, he would not know when he could see her again next time.

Amelia frowned. One of the two guards in the ward said, “Mr. York, please let go. Otherwise, it’ll only embarrass everyone.” With that, the man grabbed Warren’s hand holding the hem of Amelia’s clothes.

Warren looked at Amelia as if he didn’t hear her. He said, “I know you hate me, and rightfully so, but please let me talk to you alone. I have too many things to tell you!”

“But there’s nothing to talk about,” Amelia said.

“Is there nothing to say?” Warren thought as he smiled bitterly. His hand was still holding the hem of her clothes, even when there was another hand trying to pry it open. A burst of pain came from his hand.

His whole hand seemed to be broken, and his fingers were twisted and deformed, but he insisted on not letting go.

He just didn’t want to let go, for fear that he would never catch her again! He was afraid that even this little bond with her would be gone.

Amelia looked at him coldly and suddenly said, “Warren, you’re still so selfish. You always like to force others to do what you want. If you want others to kneel and confess, then others have to kneel and confess. If you want others to listen to you, then others must stay and listen to you. People like you never know what respect is!”

Warren’s body suddenly stiffened, and his lips trembled. It was as if he had been defeated. Depressed, his fingers gradually loosened the tight hem of the clothes.

Amelia took back her clothes and turned around.

“I know. Irene has framed you for her miscarriage this time, and it was you who gave me the bone marrow back then! You saved me back then, didn’t you?” He suddenly shouted, “Amelia, I’ll make it up to you. I’ll do whatever you want!”

Amelia paused and slowly turned her head. Looking at the man in front of her, she suddenly felt he was ridiculous and pathetic.

The man forced her to kneel and apologize a few days ago, but now he said he wanted to compensate her!

“Warren, not everything in this world can be compensated,” she said quietly as if her eyes were looking through the person in front of her. “I did donate bone marrow to save a young man. I hope that the person I saved is honest and kind. If I’m lucky enough to be able to meet him in the future, we can greet each other

with a smile.”

Warren stared at her in a daze. His heart fell and sank continuously as if it had become weightless. Her voice resonated in his ears; every word and sentence struck his eardrum.

“But I didn’t wish for the person I saved to hurt me again and again with the life I saved. So Warren, I wish that man was not you!”

After saying that, Amelia turned around and walked into the ward.

As the ward door closed, it seemed that they were now worlds apart from each other.

Warren stared at the door and stood still like a sculpture.

After a long time, he suddenly bent down and gasped for breath. His face was pale.

“Can I never make it up to her again? She even hoped that the person she saved wasn’t me! If that was true, then it would be too cruel for her!” Warren pondered. He blamed himself for only finding out the truth after hurting her repeatedly.

Why did he treat her so cruelly?

He recalled that when they were in love, she once piously asked for a blessing sign in the church and was very happy when she got a good sign.

At that time, he asked curiously, “What did you ask for?”

“I was just praying for my friend whom I have helped to be blessed with good health and free from illness. Now that I’ve gotten a good sign, it means that he’s all right,” Amelia explained.

“Friend? Which friend?”

I haven’t met the person, but I may get a chance to meet them in the future.” She smiled sweetly and added, “I’ll introduce you to each other then!”

“What kind of friend would you have never seen before? Is it someone you got to know online?” he asked.

“It’s a secret! I’ll tell you in the future,” she said with a smile.

He had only realized that the friend she mentioned was him!

She saved him. Although she didn’t meet him, she still prayed for his well-being in her heart.

However, he was ruining her life!

At that time, if he asked her about the friend more carefully, he might find out something was amiss, but he missed it.

He had never thought about listening to her revealing this “secret,” because at that time, he knew that they didn’t have a future.

He was with her just for revenge.

At this moment, the bodyguard beside Warren stepped forward and said, “Mr. York, are you all right?” The man’s voice suddenly stopped.

He was concerned because Warren’s eyes were all red, filled with intense pain.
