The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 732

Chapter 732

“I… I had hoped Rosalie might be able to persuade you, but… I feared she might not succeed, so… I couldn’t help but come in anyway,” Warren stammered. “I know you didn’t want to see me and had no desire to accept my liver, but…”

He paused, taking a deep breath, summoning all his strength to continue, “I’m begging you to undergo the operation. Once you’ve had it, I promise I won’t ever show up in your

your life again. You don’t have to see me ever again if you don’t want

to!”

All he wanted was for her to be well and alive.

Amelia looked at him and inquired, “If we’re truly going through with this surgery, it will be risky for you as well. What are your conditions?”

Her tone remained remarkably composed as if they were merely discussing a business arrangement between them.

“Conditions?” Warren exclaimed inwardly, his eyes widening in surprise. “Are you saying… you’re willing to go through with the surgery?”

“Yes,” she replied with determination, motivated by her love for her son and her mother. “If you have any conditions, please state them clearly. I don’t want to be indebted to you. However, if I happen to pass away during the surgery or experience rejection afterward, I may not be able to fulfill your conditions.”

“No! You won’t die!” Warren exclaimed with agitation. “There won’t be any rejection. You donated your bone marrow to me in the past. The blood in my body now is made from your bone marrow. Our blood is the same. How could there be rejection after the surgery?”

In a way, his liver was the most compatible source for her in the world, given their shared blood from the past bone marrow donation.

“So what are your conditions?” That was all she cared about.

His lips moved as he contemplated, “My conditions? My only condition is for her to survive. As long as she stays alive, I’d be willing to do anything!”

“Nothing. You don’t have to fret about owing me anything, because this is my way of repaying the debt. You donated bone marrow to me in the past, so now, I’m giving you my liver as a token of gratitude,” he said.

“Is that so?” Amelia murmured, “In that case, we won’t have any more debts between us. Once the surgery is over, let’s… not meet again, Warren. I simply wish to live the rest of my life in peace and avoid any further entanglements with you.” His body swayed, and a sorrowful smile crossed his face.

Even though he had come to accept that this might be the end for him and her, hearing her words still pained his heart.

The person he had loved most in his life had now completely turned away from

him.

“Okay. We won’t owe each other anything anymore,” he affirmed, his gaze unwavering as he spoke in a hoarse voice. “But… if you ever find yourself facing a problem that you can’t solve, remember that you can come to me anytime. I’ll be there to do whatever it takes to help you.”

However, Amelia remained silent. She simply closed her eyes slowly, as if whatever he said held no significance for her anymore.

Amelia’s liver transplantation was carried out shortly after Warren and Amelia underwent the required preoperative evaluations.

Lying on the cold operating table, Warren heard the anesthesiologist say, “Mr. York, we are going to administer anesthesia now.”

“Okay,” he responded, devoid of fear and filled only with hope.

His liver could finally be transplanted to Amelia. Even if something went wrong and he was to pass away on the operating table, he still held onto the hope that he could save Amelia’s life.

He owed her so much that no matter how long he lived, he couldn’t possibly repay the debt.

Warren slowly closed his eyes, sensing the faint tingling of the anesthesia needle piercing his body, followed by the sensation of something flowing into his veins.

When Warren regained consciousness, he found Jonathan standing at the bedside, accompanied by the doctor and a few nurses.

The effects of the anesthesia had not completely worn off at this point, so he didn’t experience intense pain in his body.

“How’s Amelia?” Warren said with difficulty.

“The surgery went well, but she’ll need to be monitored in the ICU ward for two days post-surgery,” Jonathan was the one who answered him.

Warren let out a sigh of relief. As long as the operation went well, it was good enough for him.

Even if… in the future, he could never be in her presence again, at least she would carry a piece of him in her body.

His liver would remain with her for the rest of her life, accompanying her through the years until the end.

And the bone marrow she had once given him would always be a part of him. Perhaps, in a way, this was another form of keeping each other company, even if they were apart.

Warren remained silent, seemingly unconcerned about his own physical condition.

Even as the doctor explained various postoperative precautions and the potential impact of the surgery on his body, he still remained silent.
