The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 763

Chapter 763

Alan continued, “But try not to mention Rosalie when Jonathan is around. Even though he doesn’t seem to have much affection for her anymore, he doesn’t like to hear her name being mentioned”.

“How could he let her go?” Calvin still had the look of disbelief on his face.

Alan shrugged. “Why couldn’t he? She’s just a woman. A man like Jonathan can have any woman he wants. But women who can give birth to a son like that are a dime a dozen.”

Alan shuddered at the memory of the boy from the Youngblood family. He was a five-year-old boy with an unfathomably high IQ. Alan grew increasingly angry as he remembered his humiliating encounter with the boy.

He thought, “Fortunately, he’s not my son. If he were my son, he would probably dominate me completely.”

Jonathan was the only one who could discipline that boy.

Calvin’s expression darkened. “Just a woman, huh?” he mused. “That woman nearly drove Jonathan crazy. Could he let go of a love like that?” he stated.

Calvin finished the glass of wine and walked over to Jonathan.

“Damn it, Calvin!” Alan muttered. “Is he going to talk to Jonathan about Rosalie? Could it be that Calvin hasn’t moved on from her after five years?” Alan pondered.

Alan ran after him with that alarming thought, afraid of Calvin and Jonathan causing another scene at the mention of Rosalie’s name again.

“After all, they almost fought for Rosalie before!” he thought to himself.

Calvin had arrived almost before Jonathan. Some wealthy businessmen from Strico, who had been chatting with Jonathan, stepped aside when they saw Calvin approaching.

After all, he was a scion of the entertainment industry and one of the most powerful men in Strico.

“What a surprise to see you here. When did you get back?” Jonathan smiled as if he was greeting an old friend.

“This is not a coincidence. I knew you’d be here tonight, and since I wanted to see you, I made a special trip to see you,” Calvin said.

“Oh?” Jonathan raised his eyebrows. “To see me? For what?”

“Do you still have feelings for Rosalie?” Calvin asked bluntly.

Jonathan’s smile faded. He stared at Calvin and replied, “It’s none of your business.”

“I just want to know if you still have her in your heart,” Calvin said.

The surrounding air seemed to freeze. The nearby guests tactfully stayed away, wishing they had heard nothing.

They valued their own lives more than a piece of gossip.

Had they heard anything not meant for their ears, their time in Strico would have come to a premature end.

Jonathan narrowed his eyes. Suddenly, he smiled and said, “I seem to recall that you once liked her, too. Do you still have that woman in your heart?”

Calvin’s expression changed dramatically. He thought, ‘That woman… Jonathan used the phrase ‘that woman’ to describe Rosalie.

What is going on? And why did Jonathan use the word ‘seem’? He knows better than anyone that I used to like Rosalie, doesn’t he?’

“You…” Before Calvin could finish his sentence, Alan grabbed his arm and turned to Jonathan. “Calvin is a little tipsy, Jonathan,” Alan said apologetically. “It’s just a little drunken rambling. Please don’t mind him.”

As he spoke, Alan quickly pulled Calvin away.

Calvin refused to budge. “Let go of me,” he told Alan. “I want to clarify this once and for all.”

“It’s not often that you’re back here in Strico. Why did you have to bother yourself with this? Why don’t I take you to some new interesting places in the city?” Alan said hastily.

“Let him go, Alan. If he wants to ask me a question, let him,” Jonathan suddenly said.

“Oh, my goodness gracious!” Alan thought in panic. “They’d better not start a fight here!” Alan said inwardly. He had no choice but to let Calvin go.

Calvin looked at Jonathan, who smiled faintly. He got the feeling that Jonathan did not know him at all.

He mused, “Maybe five years is enough to make someone feel like a different person.”

Especially in recent years, Calvin had deliberately avoided meeting Jonathan, fearing that if they met, it would remind him even more of Rosalie.

“Are

you still in love with Rosalie?” Calvin asked after a moment of hesitation.

“No,” Jonathan replied firmly. “Does that answer satisfy you?”

For a moment, Calvin did not know what to say. When Jonathan explained that he did not love her, his gaze was so calm and deep, as if he did not care for the

answer.

“Is Jonathan no longer love Rosalie?” Calvin wondered.
