The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 821

Chapter 821

“Now, you have gotten the White family and lived the life you wanted. It also proves that your choice is not wrong. Life is not hard for me. I have friends and family who love me. When I was suffering, they

accompanied me through those times. Now I’m back to my normal life. In the future, I will get married, have children, and live an ordinary but happy life. So, I don’t hate you. I just want to move on. Maybe we’ll smile at each other if we occasionally meet each other on the street in the future when we are old and surrounded by children and grandchildren. Wouldn’t that be nice?”

She spoke in a gentle voice, as if she were just telling a story. However, his heart was throbbing with pain.

Her lack of hatred only continued to deepen his pain.

He had always felt that being able to meet her and fall in love with her was the greatest blessing in his life. She was so wonderful that she even gave him the greatest dignity when they broke up.

He wondered if they wouldn’t have ended up like if he had stopped her from leaving Strico back then, and if he had not been so confident and had been better prepared.

“Lillian…” he murmured. He lowered his head slowly and couldn’t help but want to approach her and touch her.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

At that moment, they were in the room of a hotel. As both of them were looking disheveled earlier, he took her directly into a nearby hotel and checked into a room.

The doorbell seemed to pull Callum back from the trance just now. He took two steps backward in embarrassment, then turned around and walked to get the door.

Outside the door stood Callum’s subordinate. He respectfully handed over two sets of clothes. “Mr. White, these are the clothes you wanted, which were bought according to the sizes you said.”

Callum took the clothes, walked to Lillian, and handed her one of the women’s clothes. “Go get changed.”

“No need. I…”

Callum interrupted her, “Do you want to go back in such dirty clothes

and then be bombarded by your parents’ questions? If you are afraid of having something to do with me, then you shouldn’t have entered the hotel room with me in the first place. Don’t you think it’s a little too late to try to avoid arousing suspicion now?”

Lillian pursed her lips and thought about her parents’ nagging, so she said, “I will transfer the money for these clothes to you later.”

“No need,” he said.

“It’s better to be clear about the money,” said she.

Lillian went into the bathroom of the hotel to change clothes, while Callum stood rooted with his head down and smiled bitterly.

He wanted to lure her into saying that she hated him, thinking that this might stop him from missing her and made him give up all thought of getting back together with her.

This was because he no longer had the right to even touch her.

However, she still didn’t hate him.

“Haha… Haha…” Callum let out a low, dry laugh, which sounded extremely depressing and full of pain and self-mockery.

If she had hated him, maybe he would have stopped loving her so much. “Lillian… Lillian…” he called out her name in a low voice.

They were so close physically, but he couldn’t really get close to her!

After a long time, the bathroom door opened. Lillian had put on the clothes given by Callum and came out of the bathroom. Then she said to Callum, “Give me your QR code for payment. I’ll transfer you the money.”

“As I said, no need to pay me,” he said.

“As I also said, we have nothing to do with each other now. So it’s better for us to be clear-cut in money matters,” Lillian insisted.

They looked at each other, and the air seemed to be filled with depression.

Lillian bit her lips and said, “Callum, since we’ve broken up, I don’t want to owe you anything anymore, so please don’t let me owe you, okay?” His body trembled slightly. Finally, he took out his phone and showed her the QR code.

Lillian scanned the QR code and entered a figure.

After all, when the clothes were given to her earlier, there were still price tags on them, so she knew the prices. At the thought of the prices, Lillian couldn’t help but feel distressed again. The set of outfits she was wearing cost her two months’ salary in total.

However, she still had to pay the money so that she could feel relaxed.

After transferring the money, Lillian put away her phone and reached out to Callum. “By the way, I heard that you are about to marry Ms. Tall. Congratulations! I hope both of you can grow old together!”

Callum’s face changed slightly as he said in a hoarse voice, “You’re wishing me well?”

“Yeah.” At least, she still hoped that he could be truly happy even though she had broken up with him.

He stared at her outstretched hand with a complicated look. After a long time, he finally reached out to shake her hand.

He didn’t want to let go of her, even though such a handshake was a great pain for him.

His fingers wrapped around her hand tightly, and his face turned pale.
