The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 86

Chapter 86

Rosalie was actually a little used to such people. Many people looked down on sanitary workers, and sometimes even if they accidentally bumped into those workers, they would push the blame onto them.

“It’s fine. Yulissa. It’s just a trivial matter,” said Rosalie. Then, she and Yulissa continued to sweep the road. After they had finished their work, when Rosalie was changing out of her workwear, she suddenly realized that there was a small silver bracelet in the pocket of her clothing.

“When did this bracelet get into my pocket?” Rosalie wondered in confusion. But, because it was a night shift and there were only a few people in the Environment and Sanitation Administration, Rosalie decided to put away the bracelet and register it at lost property tomorrow.

When Rosalie returned to the rental home, it was dark, and the lights were off.

In the past, when she came back from her night shift, the house was lit up. Jonathan would wait for her, but now… Rosalie turned on the light, looked at the cold room, and couldn’t help but smile bitterly.

At night, when Rosalie was lying on the bed, she took out the bracelet. It was a silver bracelet for children, and the style was quite popular and commonly seen everywhere. Rosalie remembered that when she was young, she had seen similar-looking

bracelets.

Rosalie wondered, “How did this bracelet end up in my workwear pocket?” Suddenly, the memory of the man who had bumped into her today flashed across her mind. She thought. “Did the man accidentally drop the bracelet? But this bracelet does not look that valuable at first glance. I’m not sure whether the man would return to look for it.” Thinking of this, Rosalie couldn’t help but breathe a long sigh. “Why am I thinking so much? Tomorrow, I’d better register this bracelet with the Environment and Sanitation Administration, Rosalie mumbled to herself.

As Rosalie was thinking of these, unbeknownst to her, in another part of the town, the man who bumped into her at this moment had been cornered in a hotel room by a group of people. Derek had wounds all over his body and was being forcefully questioned by someone.

Derek was already regretful at the moment. If he had known things would end up like this earlier, he would not have stolen this person’s item. Earlier, when Derek looked at this person dressed like a wealthy man, he thought he had been lucky. enough to rob a big shot, but who knew that he had messed with a menacing devil?

“Sir, I really don’t know what happened to the bracelet you mentioned! I… I did notice that bracelet, but I only casually stuffed it into my pocket. I swear I don’t know why when you searched the pocket of my clothes just now, you didn’t find it!” shouted Derek, whose face was covered in blood as he knelt opposite Calvin.

On the sofa, Calvin sat elegantly. His handsome face was as cold as ice at the moment. “Where the hell is the bracelet? I don’t care what you want, but I need the bracelet back. If you can’t bring back the bracelet, then I don’t think you will need your hand after this,” said Calvin.

Derek was trembling with fear. Who knew that the bracelet… was so important? He thought, “If I had known it was such an important thing, I wouldn’t have put it in my pocket so casually. Moreover, I left quickly and accidentally bumped into

someone…

Suddenly, Derek remembered something. He said hurriedly, “I remembered now. Another person might have picked up the bracelet… I-I bumped into a sanitary worker sweeping the road at that time. Maybe the bracelet fell out of my pocket and was picked up by the sanitary worker.”

Those men who held Derek down looked at Calvin.

“Mr. Gunner, now what should…” asked one of the men.

“Find out who is this sanitary worker that he just mentioned!” Calvin said coldly. He thought, ‘No matter what, the bracelet had been my only source of comfort all these years. I have to find it back using any means possible.

No matter what it will cost mel

I have this crazy thought running through my mind that if 1 lose this bracelet, I will never be able to find the person I’m looking for in this lifetime!”

Rosalie suddenly woke up for no reason. The room was still bright as when she fell asleep.

She fumbled for the phone beside the bed and checked the time. It was 3 a.m., and she could sleep for several hours more. Just as Rosalie was about to close her eyes, she was shocked awake. She suddenly sat up, and her eyes widened as disbelief

flashed across her face.

A man was sitting at the small table in her rental home, playing with the silver bracelet she had found in her pocket today. Under the dim light, the man looked like he had walked out of a painting drawn on a high-quality canvas. His thick but perfect eyebrows, high nose, and cold thin lips looked like they had been painted by the best quality brush. But his most beautiful features were his almond-shaped eyes that were slightly upturned. When his gaze fell on someone, you could feel the coldness and distance they radiated.

was just like now when he had gazed up at Rosalie, but the feeling he gave her was that he was an illusion and not real.

“Does this man really exist? Or… Am I actually dreaming right now?” Rosalie wondered.

“You’re awake?” The man’s voice broke the silence in the room.

Rosalie suddenly came to her senses. It was not a dream, the man was realt

“W-Who are you? Why are you in my room at this time of the night?” Rosalie asked as she desperately suppressed her urge to scream. She stealthily moved her hand little by little so that she could secretly get her phone and hopefully get a chance to call the police when the man was not paying attention.

The man’s voice sounded again before Rosalie could reach for lier phone. If you want to make a police report with your phone, I suggest you give up on it right now. If I wanted to do something to you, I would have done it when you were asleep,”
