The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 900

Chapter 900

“The paint on this car is made of special materials. It’s a new type of paint that White Maple Group has been developing in recent years. Its production is very low at the moment, so it’s very precious. Besides, with a scratch like that, the whole vehicle has to be repainted, so the compensation is, of course, very high,” the driver answered fluently.

Lillian felt like she was being scammed. The special material was new and developed by White Maple Group, so Callum could name the cost at any price!

“If you truly want to make it official, Ms. Quinn, you can call the police now,” the driver said.

The problem was that she couldn’t afford to pay so much money at all! Also, after she had given birth to the baby in the future, she would only spend even more money. When that happened….

Suddenly, Lillian shivered. She lowered her head again, looking at her flat abdomen.

She just caught herself thinking of giving birth to the baby.

“Ms. Quinn, Ms. Quinn…” the driver’s voice was still ringing in Lillian’s ear.

“Ah!” Lillian came to her senses.

“If you want to settle it in private, Ms. Quinn, you can talk to Mr. White about it,” the driver said. Lillian looked at the back seat of the car, where Callum was in. Then, she bit her lip and got out of the car with a sour look on her face. She walked up to Callum’s car and gently knocked on the glass window. The window was lowered. Callum sat in the back seat, looking at Lillian with a half-smile on his face. “I thought you didn’t want to see me anymore, but now it seems that you’re quite eager to see me. If not, you wouldn’t have stopped your car here in a daze, right?”

“I didn’t. I was just distracted, so…”

Halfway through her words, she suddenly paused because she saw his expression darkening.

Remembering that her car had even scratched his just now, Lillian swallowed the rest of her words. She said awkwardly, “Well… Let’s talk about the car first. Regarding the scratch, my insurance claim is only 100 thousand dollars. Can you…”

“No,” he said right away.

She fell silent. She suddenly felt like she had failed. Not long ago, this man was just telling her how much he loved her and how he couldn’t forget about her. But now, he refused to even reduce the compensation

amount.

“Do you think that I should do things your way just because I love you? Are you hoping to downplay this matter?” Callum spoke as if he had seen through Lillian’s mind.

Lillian looked embarrassed. “Well, it’s not exactly downplaying. It’s just… Um, I just hope that you won’t ask for compensation that exceeds my insurance claim.”

“If you are looking to make it official and get the traffic police here, you’ll have to pay the exact amount. But if you want to settle it in private…”

Her eyes lit up, “What if I want to settle it in private?”

“Then get in the car, and let’s have a meal together. We can discuss it after the meal,” Callum said.

Lillian fell silent as she thought about having a meal with him. “What about my car?”

Callum said calmly, “Someone will park your car in the underground parking first. You won’t lose it. It’s up to you whether you want to get in the car or not.”

After struggling for a while, Lillian eventually found the car damage too intimidating. She opened the door and got in the car.

The car drove slowly. Lillian looked at Callum, who was sitting beside her. Today, as always, he was dressed in a suit and leather shoes with his hair neatly combed. He looked like a perfect young man.

Remembering that she was pregnant with his baby, Lillian felt a little uneasy.

She wondered how he would react if he knew that she had his baby.

She thought, “No way. I can’t let him know that. Otherwise, the relationship between us will only get

more complicated.”

“What’s the matter? Why do you look so uneasy when you’re sitting next to me? Am I that scary?” Callum’s voice suddenly rang out in the car.

“I-I’m just worried about the car damage!” Lillian said guiltily.

“If it weren’t for the car damage, would you never get in my car again?” he asked.

She bit her lip. For a moment, she didn’t know how to answer him.

Callum didn’t look like he was waiting for her answer, either. He turned to look out the window.

The car pulled up at the entrance of a famous restaurant in Strico. When they were dating in the past, Callum had brought her here as well. She loved many of the dishes they served here.

But today, when Lillian looked at the food on the table in front of her, she somehow had no appetite even though Callum had ordered all her favorite dishes.

“Why aren’t you eating?” Callum looked at Lillian, saying, “Or do you feel that even having a meal with me is unbearable?”

Lillian smiled dryly. “You’re overthinking it. We just broke up, so it’s not like we’re mortal enemies. I… I don’t think that it’s unbearable to have a meal with you.”

As she spoke, she took some shrimp and ate it.

But she had just taken a few bites when the familiar nausea welled up again. Lillian was glad that the private room Callum chose had a bathroom attached. So, she didn’t have to go out to vomit.
