Stephen said to Lillian, “No matter what happens in the end, your mother and I will always stand behind you. Our pensions are enough to support a grandchild.” 

Lillian’s eyes grew moist. She willfully decided to get pregnant out of wedlock and wanted to give birth to the baby. Even so, her parents had remained her unwavering support from the beginning. 

How lucky she was to be their daughter in this life! 

After saying goodbye to her parents, Lillian walked toward the building of White Maple Group. “Will I get to see Callum? Or should I say, will Callum meet me?” she thought, feeling nervous. Now, upon reflection, she realized how close she had been to happiness. If only she had not misinterpreted the situation when she saw Madeline leaving Callum’s mansion and continued to believe in Callum’s love for her. Perhaps they would not have separated if she had approached Callum to ask about the matter and resolve the misunderstanding. 

When Lillian arrived at the entrance of White Maple Group, she suddenly stopped and was stunned. Several people were walking out of the company, and the one at the front was none other than Callum! He was dressed in a suit. He appeared thinner compared to Lillian’s memory. His black hair was slicked back, exposing his broad forehead. This accentuated his handsome features, but it also intensified the sense of intimidation he exuded. 

His entire presence exuded an air of solemnity. At that moment, Lillian gazed at Callum in a trance, and all she could see in her eyes was his presence. 

Callum seemed to notice her gaze. He turned his head slightly and looked in the direction of Lillian. The moment he saw her, his pupils suddenly shrank, and his footsteps stopped.

Before Lillian could finish her word, the next moment, Callum had already taken a step forward and turned his head away from her without sparing her a glance. 

It was as though she was just a stranger to him. 

Seeing that Callum was about to get into a black car parked outside, Lillian suddenly came back to her senses. She hurriedly caught up and grabbed Callum’s arm. 

“Callum!” she said hurriedly, just wanting to stop him from leaving so soon. “Give me some time. I have something to tell you!” 

Callum stopped and looked at the hand that grabbed his arm coldly. 

The people trailing behind Callum were taken aback by the scene that unfolded before them. Some people began to speculate about Lillian’s identity. Of course, some recognized Lillian as the woman who had been previously associated with their director in gossip news. 

Callum’s eyes moved to Lillian’s face. His dark eyes were looking at her without any emotion. “Why should I give you time?”
