The Ceo’s Convict Wife by Jennifer Mike novel Chapter 992

Chapter 992

“Don’t remove them.” He took out the lighter and lit the two-digit candles that had been placed on the cake the previous night.

As the candlelight flickered, Lillian gazed at Callum in a daze and asked, “A-Aren’t you going to make a wish?”

After speaking, she realized she had asked an unnecessary question, as his birthday had long passed. There was no reason for him to make a wish.

“Do you think my wish can come true?” He fixed his gaze on her.

“I think so?” she responded, even though she was aware that his birthday was over.

He then shifted his gaze to the cake. For the past five years, on each birthday, he had wished to be with her one day.

He wondered if his wish would come true today. Life would have turned out great if she had not insisted on distancing herself from him and considered having an abortion.

“Lillian, do you really think my wish can come true?” he asked in a deep voice.

She choked for a moment before replying, “Y-Yes, I hope your wish can come true.”

Upon hearing that, he slowly closed his eyes as if he were making a wish. Lillian gazed at him, trying to guess what kind of wish he might be making.

After opening his eyes and blowing out the candles, he took the initiative to cut a slice of cake and took a

bite.

Upon seeing that, Lillian, too, hurriedly cut a piece of cake and started eating.

The cake might have been left out overnight, but it still tasted delicious. While Lillian was eating, Callum’s voice suddenly reached her ears. “Would you truly return to Strico if I don’t forgive you after a month?”

Lillian, who was savoring the cake, froze for a moment, and her expression darkened. Nevertheless, she raised her head and forced a smile at Callum.

She did not want to show a despondent expression while enjoying his birthday cake. “Yes, I’ll return to Strico and won’t bother you anymore. If you decide to acknowledge this child, you can always visit Strico. However, if you choose not to, I won’t tell the child who the father is.”

“What are your plans for the future? Will you raise the child as a single mother? Do you intend for the child to grow up without a father?” he inquired.

“Why do you make me feel like I’m so pathetic? I have my parents, and I have my child. Who knows, I might even marry someone and form a family of my own. Don’t worry about me!” she replied in a casual tone, deliberately adding a smile.

Deep down, Lillian knew she would never form a new family with another man.

If she were the kind of person who could easily fall in love with someone else, she would have been married for five years!

Callum’s expression darkened when he heard her words. “Lillian, you really don’t have a care in the world, huh? On one hand, you’re relentless in your pursuit of me, yet on the other, you’ve already crafted an exit strategy, haven’t you?”

“…” Before she could explain, he interrupted her.

In a disdainful voice, he uttered, “You’re still as heartless as before, Lillian Quinn. You’re so skilled at playing with people’s emotions and making them fall for you before leaving them high and dry.”

Lillian blinked and was stunned for a moment, wondering if he considered himself the victim in this

situation.

She was also curious to know if he had fallen for her.

Before long, she sneered inwardly. It was unclear whether he would forgive her, let alone fall for her.

“It’s not like I’m running away, anyway. I’m only leaving if you refuse to forgive me. Besides, you have a month to think this through, right?” Lillian explained sheepishly.

Under his gaze, she somehow felt an inexplicable pang of guilt.

“Yes, just one month. Are you going to give up so easily? Are you really going to stop bothering me after that? Don’t I deserve your attention?” Callum raised his voice.

He could not help but feel frustrated at the thought of her starting a new family with another man. He could not even imagine how he would feel when she actually did form a family with someone else and referred to the man as her husband, or when her child called the man “daddy.”

Lillian was completely struck dumb, trying to decipher what he meant by wanting her to continue bothering him.

“I don’t quite get what you’re trying to say. Can you explain it to me clearly?” Lillian muttered.

Callum took a deep breath and stared at Lillian. “Lillian, I want you to keep on bothering me for the rest of your life. You’re not going anywhere!”

Lillian was flabbergasted. She did not believe her ears when he said he would not let her go for the rest of her life.

Deep in thought and looking absent-minded, she was taken by surprise when he reached out, lowered his head, and kissed her lips.

The scent of the cake still lingered on his lips, and his kiss tasted sweet and delicious. Lillian stared at his face in a daze, her mind nearly going blank.

Even after Callum withdrew his lips, Lillian remained in a daze. In a puzzled voice, she asked, “Why did you kiss me?”
