She was enraged, telling from the way she talked.
Joseph Beckham was confused and asked, “Who pissed you off?”
Saying about this, Hayden Downey blew her top, “Who’s pissing on me? Who…”
She was about to say something, but when she looked at that blank face on Joseph, she gritted her teeth and just said, “No one. I’m tired.”
“Stay for the night if you’re tired. I’ll send you back tomorrow morning.”
Hayden was furious as she stuffed all her clothes, together with the hanger, into her luggage bag, “No thanks. I’m going now. I have to get back to look at the kid.”
“I’ll give you a ride.”
“I have my car.”
Hayden had been borrowing Alayna Cole’s car for the past two days. She could finally return it to her tonight.
After finished talking, she closed her suitcase, pulled out the handle, and went on. Her movements were neat and deft. The sound of the trolley wheel spinning was getting softer in the corridor. Joseph stood at the door, felt perplexed as he watched her leave.
…
“So, he just let you go like this? It’s late already, and didn’t he give you a ride?”
“I’ve said I didn’t need it.”
“So he didn’t give you a ride just because you didn’t want him to!”
Alayna applied a facial mask while listening to Hayden roasting the whole incident when she got back. Alayna blew a gasket, slapping on the table, and said, “Trust no man, fear no bitch. Kevin Jackman, that son of a bitch, is no good at all. And how would you think about his childhood friend too? I’ve barked up the wrong tree for trusting Joseph Beckham.”
“It’s not a matter of whether he gives me a ride or not. It’s that why do Viola Kidman accompany him for taking Noah to see a doctor abroad? He didn’t even tell me about it. What’s wrong with telling me about it? I’m not such a narrow-minded person. What can I do to stop it if this is something that requires his ex’s help?”
Hayden was foaming at the mouth.
“This is what you saw. Imagine those that you didn’t!” Alayna even poured fuel on the fire and added, “Had you ever seen Viola helping Joseph with his tie? It’s something so ambiguous! And it was even at the hotel entrance. Isn’t she digging up the hatchet against you?”
“They didn’t know that I was there.”
“That’s warring against you too! The receptionist should have seen it. And Joseph’s assistant must have known it too. All of them are hiding from you. This is going too far. It’s so humiliating.”
“It’s not that serious!” Hayden hesitated, feeling that Alayna had exaggerated about this.
“Listen to me. Never try to care about him for this moment. Men are such a pussy. Let him reflect on himself. And let him admit his fault to you.”
“Admit his fault?” Hayden curled her lips, “Joseph is not like Kevin. I think that’s a no way for him.”
Alayna frowned and disagreed, “Men need to be trained. Take my word for it!”
The two besties were in full swing discussing their men having affairs. On the other side, the men were chatting at a remote tavern.
Joseph described Hayden as being unhappy in just a few words.
“Done?” Kevin Jackman spread his arms, “You’re saying that she’s angry and not telling me any reason. How can I give you some advice?”
“Perhaps, it’s because I’m home late this time.”
Joseph frowned, feeling puzzled, “She’s mad because I left the reception to her alone.”
