The CEO's Return (Tracy and Alex) novel Chapter 23

Alex

I knelt in between her legs and I leaned in to kiss her but she swerved, I tried to chase our lips but she was being stubborn.

"Tracy."

"Get off me."

"Why?"

"Why not?"

"Because I have a motive."

"So I am a pushover now? Please get off me or else I'd scream loud enough to wake those kids." I don't know why but that threat made me jump off her like she was hot coal.

"Don't wake the kids please."

"As far as you don't come too close to me." She replied sitting up

"Tracy, I want you to know I don't see you as a pushover, not at all, you are just the woman I love, the mother of my children."

"You mean the woman you left."

"Tracy!"

"It is not a lie."

"Well, I have an explanation for that, though it might is very illogical."

"I don't need your explanation, please keep it to yourself." She said standing up but I held her hands.

"Tracy, I understand that you are hurt, I understand, but I want you to know that I love you a million times than I loved you when we started courting, I love our children too and I want you to know that I'd be there for you, I saw what you were trying to do earlier, you were trying to lift the kids out of the pool by yourself even though I was in the pool with you, I want you to know you don't have to do everything by yourself, I'm here now, the kids' father is here now so we will do everything together." I dropped her hands and I grabbed the bag containing the clothes I bought which I left in my room after removing mine.

"Here, I bought it for you and the kids earlier, Incase you need something to change into tomorrow morning," I said and she collected it without saying anything, I wanted her to give me anything even if it is a good night but she didn't, she left like that.

I stood there until I heard the door to the room where the kids were sleeping open and close, then I dropped into my bed, I know it is not exactly how I hoped the day would end but then I like the fact that there was an improvement.

I fell asleep and I slept well, Tracy and the kids left early after breakfast.

I felt it, but I didn't even have time to convince them to stay because I had lots of documents to work on, James came over too.

"So how is it?"

"How is what?"

"Things between you and your wife and kids."

"Fine."

He spent over an hour giving me 'tips', I realized the tips were not as bad as I thought so I decided to make good use of them.

"James, can you prepare me a contract?, I'm planning on buying this house, and I need a good Interior designer, I need to design it to my taste."

"Really?, Okay! I'll start on the contract and I'll send the designer's name later." He said then rushed out of my house, who knew it was so easy to get rid of him.

That night I slept in the room where Tracy and the kids slept, even though she cleaned up before she left, it still smelt like them, I slept comfortably.

I woke up early the next day and I left for work as soon as I finished my daily routine, Tracy was at work already and she brought breakfast, it was blueberry pancakes with blueberries on top.

"Tracy?" I called and she came closer

"Sit down," I said and she sat in the chair before me, I took a blueberry and stuffed it in her mouth before she could protest.

"Tastes nice right?" I asked without looking at her because I felt so shy, a whole CEO felt shy!.

I finished breakfast and she read my schedule to me, there was a meeting at that moment so when we were about to leave my office I hugged her and rushed out like a high school girl who just passed a love note to her crush.

I kept at it, following James's idea, I tucked her hair behind her ear once, opened the door to the conference room for her, I didn't get to hold her hand because she was either walking in front of me or behind me, but I applaud myself for the effort I was making.

It was all fine until Tracy's lunch break, Sam called her and she went downstairs to meet him, and I did what I have never done because of a lady, I followed her, they entered the coffee shop and they sat down.

They ordered coffee and they kept laughing, I didn't like it at all, I detested it so much that I didn't know when I barged inside the cafe.
