Chapter 12 

Jessica cast her a glance. She knew all about it. Her heart condition was a concern for Leopold, who, in his anxiety, had shared the truth with her “You know how Leopold is, once he’s made up his mind, no one can change it, she said, clutching her chest in feigned distress. “My poor grandchild, just like that gone Every time I think of it, it breaks my heart I need to be down” 

With a wave of her hand, a housemaid rushed to her side, helping her up the stairs. Jessica was no fool, she saw through Elowen’s act Leopold entered the room, an icy, serious expression on his face. “That’s in the past, no one is to speak of it again.” 

Elowen didn’t wera to bring it up, but she was anxious. She was afraid he would deceive her, perhaps secretly keeping the child. 

Leopold, why do you still keep Aurelia in the company? Aren’t you afraid she’ll reveal the truth about the child?” 

Leopold narrowed his eyes, a warning chill emanating from him. “That’s none of your concern. The fact that I haven’t held you accountable for Kelly’s situation should make you grateful.” 

Elowen shivered. “Are you defending her?”

With that, Leopold turned and ascended the stairs, not wanting to waste another glance on her. Elowen was terrified. 

In the past, although Leopold was always cold to her, he had never warned her about a woman. That was weird!

Leopold paused momentarily, then continued up the stairs. 

These days, Aurelia’s pregnancy symptoms were getting more intense. She felt nauseous whenever she was hungry. 

She could only keep some snacks at hand to curb the nausea. A call came from the reception desk, someone was looking for her. 

Outside was a strange middle–aged woman, dressed in designer clothes, clearly wealthy. 

“Are you looking for me?” Aurelia asked. 

The woman looked her up and down, scoffing, “You little bitch. No wonder you can lure men.” 

Aurelia was confused and instinctively took a few steps back. “I think you’ve got the wrong person.” 

The voice of the receptionist came from the side. “That’s Mrs. Bright, the wife of Mr. Bright from the Bright Group.” 

Mr. Bright from the Bright Group? Aurelia remembered. He was the old pervert who harassed her at the jewelry exhibition last month. She had scolded him and made him run off. 

Could it be that the old pervert held a grudge and sent his wife for revenge? 

“Mrs. Bright, if you want to settle scores, you should go to your husband. I’m very busy at work, so I won’t accompany you.” 

As she turned to leave, Mrs. Bright rushed forward, grabbing her arm, “You bitch. You seduced my husband and even got pregnant. Who else should I go to?”
