Chapter 124
Friday marked the annual celebration of Astral Enterprises.
Directors, major shareholders, top management, and social elites… all were in attendance.
Aurelia donned a high–waisted dress, paired with a cape–style coat. It was both elegant and adequately concealed her baby bump.
It was her first time attending such a grand occasion.
Astral Enterprises hosted their annual celebration at the ultra–luxurious hotel, a property owned by the
Stirling Group.
The massive banquet hall was dazzling, extending as far as the eye could see.
She entered the hall trailing behind several directors.
Soon, she spotted Elowen and her mother, Elara Stirling. Aurelia initially wanted to greet them, but Evelyn made her first move.
Evelyn was dressed in a custom–made green gown.
On Evelyn, it was striking.
“Ms. Elowen, Mrs. Stirling, how do you do?” Evelyn said.
Elowen’s eyes widened as she recognized the dress; it was one Megan had worn.
“Evelyn, have you lost your mind? You dare to wear Megan’s dress to such an important event, are you doing this on purpose?”
“I’ve been missing my sister recently, so I decided to wear her dress as a form of tribute. I don’t want her to be forgotten, especially by Leo. I hope she forever lives in Leo’s heart and remains his true love.”
She flicked her hair and flashed a cryptic smile, sending chills down Elowen’s spine.
Elowen was about to retort, but Elara stopped her.
Elara was calm and collected, having weathered many storms, “Elowen, you’re soon to be a lady of the Stirling family, you don’t need to engage in such trivial matters.”
With that, she led Elowen away, wary of her falling into Evelyn’s trap and making a scene.
Aurelia watched from a distance, impressed by Evelyn’s audacity. Was she planning to publically challenge
Elowen?
Evelyn noticed her and walked over, “Manager Aurelia, aren’t you just loving the show?”
What else could she do?
Aurelia thought to herself, she was merely a spectator, what else was there to do but watch?
“I’ve never been one to meddle in others‘ affairs.”
Evelyn smirked, “Aren’t you quite close with Ms. Elowen? Didn’t you two have dinner together just the other day?”
“Now that’s my personal business, don’t we all have a few friends?” Aurelia said with a smile. It was crucial to maintain etiquette in such settings.
Evelyn continued to smile, always mindful of her expression.
“Honestly, I admire you, Manager Aurelia. Whether it’s a big or small issue, you aren’t afraid to go directly to
the big boss. Even Mr. Louis doesn’t dare enter the boss’s office without good reason.”
Aurelia laughed, “If I didn’t even have that much courage, how would I dare to challenge you?”
“Let’s hope you are just brave.” A shadow crossed Evelyn’s eyes, her tone ambiguous.
