Leopold gently pinched her cheek, "Saying Liam is still kicking around would be more believable than him being reincarnated.”
Aurelia let out a long sigh, "If there's no afterlife, then once this life is over, we'll be parted forever."
Leopold pulled her into his embrace, his eyes brimming with tender ripples, "Babe, we're young, and we've got a whole lifetime ahead of us. We'll only know if there's an afterlife when we get there. If there is one, we'll be together in the next life, forever and always."
Aurelia playfully glared at him, “That depends on how you behave. If you screw up, we might not even make it through this lifetime.”
His lips curved into a captivating smile, “I’ll only get better, making sure you can never leave me.”
"There's no one in this world who can't be lived without. The Earth will keep spinning without anyone, without any difference."
"I can't live without you. Without you, my world would stop spinning."
"I wasn't around before, and you managed just fine."
"That was for Kane. If it wasn't for him, I would be gone when you came back."
Aurelia was skeptical, and perhaps he did have a fondness for her, but surely not to this extreme.
"Every man likes a pretty woman. When I get old and ugly, you might just get sick of me."
"I could never get sick of you," Leopold said with unwavering confidence.
Aurelia chuckled, thinking he must have his lips dipped in honey, becoming more skilled at sweet-talking by the day.
After a moment of silence and some fruit, she changed the subject.
"Skyler got another text from Geoffrey. If Mossy Rock Retreat isn't bugged, how does Geoffrey know what Skyler is up to?"
Leopold's expression turned grave.
"The security department has stepped up. They'll figure it out."
