Chapter 139
Tina quickly asked, “Did you meet the big boss?”
“No, the boss is in a meeting. I waited a bit and then came back,” Emma covered up.
In reality, not only did she not get to see the boss, she also got a good scolding.
Aurelia saw right through Emma, but she didn’t expose her.
She didn’t like to add insult to injury, even if the person was her sworn enemy,
“I always separate professional and personal matters. Even if you’re not on my team, I’ll assess you fairly. So, you don’t need to worry. Just focus on your work.”
The office quieted down.
Everyone got down to work, no more talking.
Emma was extremely frustrated and could only send a message to Evelyn for help.
She was certain that Aurelia would take this opportunity to get back at her, making her the second person in Astral Enterprises to get an ‘E‘ in performance assessment.
In the evening, when Aurelia got home and saw Laura slicing beef, she knew that Leopold would be coming for dinner.
He loved Laura’s iron skillet steak, a favorite since childhood.
Recently, he seemed to be visiting for dinner more often, probably because he enjoyed Laura’s steak so
much.
Sure enough, just as she finished showering, Leopold arrived.
She took out fresh juice from the fridge, got two glasses of it, and handed one to him.
“Mr. Leopold, Emma from our department came to see you today. She didn’t want me assessing her performance. Did you know that?”
“Do I need to?” Leopold responded, his face expressionless and cold as ice.
If he let such trivial matters disturb him, it would be a failure on the part of his secretaries.
The reason Aurelia could come and go freely was because he had issued a “pass.”
Aurelia gave a flattering smile, “No need, you’re so busy. You don’t have time for such trivial matters.”
Leopold stretched out his hand, covering her head, “As a department manager, it’s your job to manage your subordinates.”
She made a face, “How can I manage Evelyn’s team? They don’t even see me as their manager. They’d never accept it.”
Leopold looked at her, his expression growing serious, “The teams were set by your department, not the company. If you can’t manage them, find a way. Otherwise, it’s your failure.”
Aurelia understood this, but if she tried to manage Evelyn’s team, Evelyn would definitely retaliate against
her team.
It’s better to mind their own businesses.
“While Evelyn is away, I will manage the department well. Don’t worry.”
Laura finished cooking.
Aurelia was already hungry, sitting at the dining table, rubbing her hands together, ready to eat.
Every time he saw her eating, Leopold’s appetite increased.
It must be said, she was easy to feed, never picky, and always enjoyed her food.
Perhaps it was because of her that he subconsciously thought of coming here every time he finished work.
