Chapter 184
Leopold choked a bit, his hand instinctively reaching out to cover her belly, “Our children will naturally be like me, knowing how to take the best and leave the worst.”
Aurelia raised an eyebrow, a hint of irony flickering in her eyes, “So, you didn’t inherit the flirtatious gene?” Who would’ve thought!
Leopold pinched her chin, his gaze piercing as he stared at her, “You think I’m a womanizer?”
Aurelia pursed her lips. Even though his heart belonged to his first love, it didn’t seem to prevent him from having relations with other women.
After all, physical needs were a hurdle that no creature of flesh could bypass.
She was convinced that he had been intimate with Evelyn, otherwise where did all his raging hormones go?
Swallowing her saliva, she quickly switched to a playful expression, “I haven’t seen any signs of it. Our babies‘ daddy is a paragon of virtue, faithful and single–minded, determined to fight against the family’s
inherited vices till the end!”
After saying this, she pulled a face, “Mr. Leopold, the babies must have heard us, how am I doing with my prenatal teaching?”
She beamed at him, clearly expecting praise. Leopold couldn’t help but laugh.
This woman, slippery as an eel, a rare breed indeed!
Just then, his phone buzzed, a message from Evelyn via WhatsApp.
“Leo, I’m off work tomorrow, and I’ll take Honey to the club to practice, would you like to join?”
“Sure.”
“Great, see you at the club tomorrow, Honey will be thrilled to see you.”
Aurelia picked up a prenatal education book, pretending to flip through it while her eyes were glued to his phone screen.
She gathered the gist of it. They were going on a date tomorrow, and it was no secret!
Poor Elowen. She felt bad for her.
Perhaps out of excessive sympathy, she felt a bit sour, as if she was also being cheated.
She pretended to yawn and stood up, “It’s getting late, I should go to bed.”
She couldn’t disturb his sweet time with his sweetheart. A surrogate should know her place!
Leopold shot her a glance before heading to the living room to take a call.
Kevin had also sent a WhatsApp message, there was an emergency.
Evelyn was off work today.
Aurelia knew that she was out having a date with the boss.
The man was a typical hypocrite, only allowing himself to enjoy while others could not. As part of the disadvantaged group, she felt utterly miserable.
When Emma came in, she was glowing, her face as beautiful as a peach blossom in full bloom.
“Wow, a woman in love is definitely different,” Cindy laughed, “Has your boyfriend found a place yet? When are you moving in together?”
“Not yet, but soon. It’s a short–term lease anyway, he’ll buy a house soon,” Emma’s eyes squinted into slits as she laughed, “I took the afternoon off to go car shopping with him. We’ll buy an electric one for now and switch when we get a car plate.”
“What does your boyfriend do? Is he looking for a new job in Elysium?” Cindy asked.
