Chapter 199
“Whenever a man and a woman argue, regardless of who’s at fault, the man should be the one to break the
ice.”
“Why is that?”
“Because you’re a man, how can you quarrel with a girl? What women often want is an attitude. As long as you make her feel loved, she’ll be happy.”
Leopold frowned instinctively.
Was that cunning vixen waiting for him to make the first move? Was she testing his attitude?
She was playing a deep game, but she would only be disappointed. How could he possibly care for her?
At Sunbeam Retreat.
After dinner, the four of them sat on the couch, eating fruits while watching “Dream for Young.”
Since its premiere, Avery’s popularity had been skyrocketing, and he was getting more and more screen time.
The entertainment world was ruthlessly realistic. Everything was determined by popularity.
Arnold took a bite out of an apple and whispered, “I received news yesterday. Cassie broke her leg during training. Carme Entertainment is arranging for a newcomer to replace her, a girl named Bonnie.”
“What? Bonnie?” Jolin and Aurelia exclaimed in surprise, almost simultaneously.
Arnold blinked, “You know her?”
Aurelia glanced at her brother, Avery, whose expression darkened slightly. He bit into a slice of orange, staying silent.
She sighed lightly, “Bonnie is Avery’s ex–girlfriend.”
Jolin scowled at the mention of Bonnie, her anger palpable, “She left Avery when he was seriously ill. Didn’t even bother to visit him.”
Arnold put an arm around Avery, “Can you handle her?”
“I’m fine,” Avery forced a smile, “I’ve moved on from the past.”
“Avoid any unnecessary interaction with her during the next recording. We don’t want any unnecessary rumors or for her to take advantage of your fame,” Aurelia advised.
Avery had a naturally likable personality. His Twitter follower count had already hit five million, with a fan club to boot. It would be strange if a selfish opportunist like Bonnie didn’t try to leverage his fame.
Avery nodded, “I know.”
Arnold looked at Aurelia, his gaze soft and affectionate. She was always so considerate, and their thoughts often aligned. Was this what they called “great minds think alike“?
Jolin smiled at him, “Since Avery joined the entertainment industry, I’ve given up hopes of him settling down early. Now I just hope that Aurelia can marry a decent man soon and give me a couple of grandkids to dote
on.”
Aurelia choked on her drink. She was indeed about to give her mother two grandkids soon. Hopefully, her mother won’t be too shocked by the news.
“Mom, love needs time to grow. Only through understanding and companionship can a relationship last.

Rushing into marriage often leads to a breakdown.”
Jolin patted her head, “Silly girl, fate waits for no one. When you meet the right person, hold on to them.. Otherwise, you’ll live with regret.”
Her words were not only for her daughter, but also for Arnold.
Arnold’s chestnut eyes flashed with an indescribable depth, as if her words had struck a chord.
