Chapter 207
Blood oozed from her wrist, causing her to shudder with pain.
She was indeed terrified of pain, but Aurelia had insisted that the act had to be convincing. Without a bit of blood, there was no way to dissuade Leopold.
Elara screamed and lunged forward, trying to snatch the shard of glass from her hand, “Foolish girl, what in God’s name are you doing? If anything happened to you, how am I supposed to live?”
Jessica, the old lady, quickly ordered the servant to fetch a first aid kit to stop Elowen’s bleeding.
Elowen sobbed uncontrollably, “Mom, if Leopold doesn’t want me, I can’t go on. I’ll go to meet Uncle Chad in heaven. He always pampered me. He would definitely stand up for me.”
Elara also started crying, “Once you meet him, you won’t be able to return. Even if he stands up for you, what good will it do?”
Jessica sighed, “I’ll put a stop to this. Let’s give Elowen another chance. No one is to bring this up again.”
Leopold narrowed his eyes slightly, the icy glint in his gaze making him appear particularly intimidating. “This is the last time. If you dare to act out again, seeking death won’t help.”
With that, he turned and walked out.
Elowen heaved a sigh of relief. She had dodged a bullet.
After Elara and Jessica bandaged her wound, they took her to the hospital.
Fredric watched from the sidelines, shaking his head and sighing, “women… always crying, making a fuss, and threatening suicide.”
When Leopold entered the apartment, Aurelia was watching a show with Laura. Seeing him arrive, Laura tactfully excused herself to her room.
Leopold sat on the couch, his hand gently caressing her belly as if greeting their children, letting them know daddy was home.
Aurelia stole a glance at him. His handsome face was like an ice sculpture, revealing no emotion.
Guess the annulment didn’t go as planned? Otherwise, he would have rushed to his sweetheart’s villa to celebrate with champagne.
She handed him a fruit plate of cherries with a pleasing expression. She didn’t want to be a collateral damage in this mess.
“Mr. Leopold, these cherries are fresh and sweet. Try one.”
Leopold ate a cherry and glanced at the TV, “You like soap operas?”
Aurelia made a face, “Soap operas give people beautiful dreams of love. The CEOs in the dramas are nothing like the ones in real life. In dramas, they’re devoted and faithful. In reality, they’re womanizers, fickle and experts in time management.”
Leopold’s expression darkened, “Whom are you insinuating at?”
Aurelia pouted, “Those unfaithful husbands, of course.”
A sharp, cold light flashed in Leopold’s eyes. As long as he wasn’t the one being insinuated at.
After finishing the cherries, Aurelia got up to take a shower.
Leopold picked up his phone to check his emails. At that moment, a message notification sounded from Aurelia’s phone left on the coffee table. It was a message from Elowen.
