“Who says Cinderella only exists in fairy tales? Director Aurelia has put those high society heiresses to shame. She married Mr. Leopold.” 

“Dreams do create miracles.” 

“Director Aurelia may have had a humble beginning, but she’s beautiful and capable, and that’s why she captured Mr. Leopold’s heart.” 

“I wish I could be so lucky. I don’t aspire to marry a tycoon like Mr. Leopold, but I’d be content with a rich, innocent heir.” 

Leopold and Aurelia found a quiet corner booth. 

“It’s been three years, and is Chef Smith still here? His steak is divine.” 

Leopold’s lips curved into a charming smile, “As long as you enjoy it, we’ll keep him here.” 

Aurelia took a sip of her juice, a smile on her face, “Mr. Leopold, it’s been three years, so why haven’t you assigned a director? What if I die? Will you not appoint a new director for the Design Department?” 

Although Darcy was her subordinate, Darcy’s design style was conservative, not enough to compete with Zina, the design director of Ethereal Gems. 

If only Leopold would appoint a director who had a unique design style, the sales wouldn’t be overtaken by Ethereal Gems. After all, Astral Enterprises had a powerful sales team, but he resisted the pressure and kept the position for her. 

This was one of the reasons she quickly agreed to work again. She couldn’t disappoint his expectations. 

Leopold spoke solemnly, “I have a gut feeling that you’re still alive. It’s like a psychic connection between us. 

Aurelia didn’t believe in psychic connections. They were separated by lots of things; no psychic connection could cross that distance. 

“If I die, you can hire another director and marry another wife. No one is irreplaceable, and the earth will still rotate without anyone.” 

Leopold looked at her seriously, “I’ll hire another director, but I will only have one wife in my life, and I won’t remarry.” 

His world would be dim without her, losing sunlight, losing moisture, and more barren than Mars. 

Aurelia didn’t believe him. He had a little crush on her, but he hadn’t really fallen in love with her, because she believed that he person he truly loved was Megan Alcott. 

“Life is long, so don’t speak so surely.” 

After Megan died, he still got married. Even without her, he would marry someone else. 

She didn’t know Leopold very well. He wouldn’t sweet–talk her, or make grand promises. He just spoke the truth. 

He looked at her, his gaze meaningful. 

“As long as I’m alive, you can’t divorce. Only after I die can you remarry.” His tone was extremely possessive, and he only had such an overwhelming desire to possess her. 

Other women weren’t worthy of his attention.
