Aurelia and Emma walked in, both donning black masks. 

For Aurelia, unless there was a special occasion, she would always dress casually and carry an unbranded bag from Amazon. Emma too, dressed like a typical suburban housewife. 

The sales in the luxury boutique were like human scanners. From the moment a customer walked in, they would scan them from top to toe, categorizing them as either window shoppers or potential buyers. The sales thought Aurelia and Emma clearly fell into the first category. So, they didn’t bother to engage, instead, they continued their chit–chat and threw out a snide remark, “Please, refrain from touching. Everything in our store is expensive.” 

The woman who said this, named Susan, wore very detailed and enticing makeup. 

“The diamond ring of Gleam & Shadow Love is so beautiful, so did you guys manage to get one?” 

“No, it was sold out in a flash, online and in–store. Aurelia’s design is highly collectible.” The brunette associate finished and asked, “Did you get one?” 

Susan flicked her hair, “Aurelia is my boyfriend’s cousin. Why would I worry about not getting one? He has already reserved the limited edition for me.” 

Hearing this, Aurelia glanced at Emma and whispered, “Is she talking about Ritchie?” 

Emma nodded. 

Aurelia was certain that Ritchie was once again pretending to be a rich guy. Was he planning to take a twenty–year loan to buy the limited edition? 

The brunette associate smirked, “Just a friendly reminder, he’s a married man. His wife has every right to claim the gifts he gives away.” 

Susan shrugged, “He’s about to divorce his frumpy wife. After giving birth, she’s become fat and ugly. He can’t even stomach a meal in her presence. What‘ more, she can’t bear any more children, and his family is hankering for a son. You know, the Hawthorne’s, they’re rolling in it. If I bring a boy into their world, I’ll have a slice of that wealth too.” 

Aurelia almost choked on her saliva. When did the Hawthorne family become wealthy? Why wasn’t she informed? 

It seemed like Ritchie was a liar, but this woman was willing to believe. 

Emma was already fuming. Ritchie, that bastard! She worked her fingers to the bone to raise his children, and cater to his needs, and now he dares to insult her in front of his

Aurelia patted her shoulder, urging her to stay calm. 

The brunette associate glanced at Susan’s stomach, “If she refuses to divorce, do you plan to use your pregnancy as leverage?”

“If I really get pregnant with a son, she will have to divorce him.” Susan caressed her stomach. She had actually been pregnant before and did a secret gender found out it was a girl, she had an abortion. 

The brunette associate sighed, “Making your way into a wealthy family isn’t as easy as you think. You should prepare yourself for a breakup and make sure you get a good settlement.” 

Susan scoffed, “You’re just jealous. He loves me so much, how could he bear to break up with me? I bet, with one call, he would rush over here in his BMW.”
