Chapter 642
Avery didn't answer, his face clouded over like an impending storm.
"I need to review the script. Go play somewhere else," he muttered, as he settled into a nearby armchair and picked up the script, ignoring Leah's presence.
Leah's heart ached, her eyes brimming with unshed tears. She turned on her heel and hurried away.
William, ever the observant one, immediately sensed the tension, "Uncle Avery, if a man and a woman fight, the man should apologize first."
"Why should I?" Avery was taken aback by his words.
William replied with all the seriousness he could muster, ‘Dad says that a real man doesn't squabble with girls."
Avery was speechless. How could he possibly be petty over such a trivial matter with Leah? He was just ina foul mood.
Aurelia approached, taking William's hand. “Come on. Let's head to the movie studio. We'll come back for dinner and invite Uncle Avery and Leah to join."
It was best to give them some time to cool off. Relationships could only be mended by those involved.
“Remember to get Leah some chocolate, Uncle Avery. It's her favorite, and she won't stay mad after eating it"
William advised as he walked off with Aurelia.
"Leah also loves red velvet cake and cheese and bacon rolls..." chimed in Skyler.
Leah was easy to please. A little treat and she would light up with joy.
A headache began to cloud Avery's senses, causing him to massage his forehead in slight agony.
Arnold rented a sightseeing trolley, considering the sprawling size of the movie studio, allowing them to tour around while leisurely enjoying the ride.
Skyler scratched his head, "I bet Leah's mad because Avery doesn't like her back"
William corrected him, "Uncle Avery likes Leah, but he just can't date."
