Chapter 73
“Wow, I’ve heard a ton of celebs are members at The Muse Club,” Avery immediately chimed in, nodding enthusiastically.
Aurelia, naturally, was also keen on the idea. Last time, she was forcibly stopped by Leopold, which irked her for days.
Avery, an outgoing character, chatted away happily with Arnold all the way, even starting to call him “bro“.
Upon arriving at The Muse Club, Aurelia’s eyes instantly found Leopold. No matter when or where, he was always the most noticeable, the most dazzling.
Her body stiffened a bit, her previously excited mood suddenly shifting to nervousness, as if a dark cloud had drifted over a sunny sky.
As she hesitated whether to greet him, she saw Evelyn walking towards him carrying a cocktail, taking a seat next to him.
So, he came with Evelyn.
He wouldn’t let her come but secretly brought another woman, what a double standard!
She sullenly pouted to herself, feeling a sudden and inexplicable annoyance.
“Look, Leopold’s here too. Want to say hi?” Arnold’s voice came from beside her.
Aurelia nodded, instructing her brother to find a seat while she walked over with him..
Leopold had already noticed her, and the man beside her, a flash of displeasing sweeping across his eyes.
“Mr. Leopold, Ms. Evelyn, what a coincidence to see you two here,” Aurelia stretched her mouth into a forced, exaggerated smile.
Leopold gave her a chilly glance, his eyes growing colder.
Evelyn hadn’t expected Aurelia to show up, especially with Arnold. There had been rumors about her ambiguous relationship with Arnold. Apparently, they were true.
No wonder Aurelia dared to compete with her!
“Leo, I didn’t know Aurelia was dating Arnold.”
“Is that so?” Leopold’s eyes narrowed slightly, revealing a glint of latent danger, particularly unnerving.
Aurelia shrugged nonchalantly, “Ms. Evelyn, you sure have a wild imagination. Arno and I are just good friends.”
Arnold cracked a wicked smile, “Aurelia is my confidante, more precious than a girlfriend.”
Leopold’s jaw tightened, the thorn in his heart pricking deeper, as if it was about to pierce through.
“Arnold has countless confidantes, doesn’t he?”
Arnold shrugged, “True friends are hard to come by. You can have many girlfriends, but only one true confidante.”
Evelyn turned to Leopold, flashing a charming smile, “I want to be Leo’s only confidante too.”
Aurelia scoffed to herself. It was clear what Evelyn’s intentions were. She was probably dreaming of becoming the CEO’s wife!
It would be best for her to keep a low profile, Elowen might be on her way to confront her already.
“You guys carry on, we won’t disturb you.”
She and Arnold turned to leave.
Leopold watched her retreating figure, a raging fire burning in his heart.
Later, Arnold introduced some of the prominent members of the club to Aurelia and her brother.
