Megan spent most of her time in her room. Her face was still healing, and she had to avoid a bad sunburn.

She was on the brink of going stir-crazy.

Jewel breezed in, saying, "Got an email from Allen. He wants us to figure out how to spring Thomas from the clink."

Megan blinked. "Thomas? Isn't he the guy who hypnotized Skyler and got himself locked up?"

Jewel nodded. "Yeah, that's the one. He's one of ours. He was supposed to hypnotize Aurelia to kill Lana, but the plan backfired on him big time."

Megan caressed her swelling belly. "Babe, I'm pregnant and out of the game. It's all on you. I'll back you up, though."

Jewel rolled her eyes. She hadn't expected much from Megan anyway.

After lunch, with her face layered in concealer, Megan sought out Leopold, who was lounging on a deckchair, enjoying a siesta.

She settled on the adjacent chair.

"Leopold, our baby will be here soon. Are you sure you want to start his life in a broken home?"

Leopold snorted, "I’ve got one son growing up in a broken home. This one more won't make a difference."

Her throat constricted like she'd swallowed a stone that wouldn't go down.

"I... I promise I'll stop the drama with the other women. I'll try to get along, okay?"

Leopold's voice was icy. "Fine, but you'll have to step down as the wife. Lana's a better fit."

Megan nearly passed out in anger.

"How's she better fit? I'm from a wealthy family. And that will count for something more than an actress, right?"

Lana strolled over, sitting beside Leopold. "Darling, is the disgraced wife bothering you again? Gosh, she really lacks self-awareness."

"Ignore her," Leopold said, handing her a soda.

Megan's teeth clenched. "Lana, zip it. I'm not stepping down. I'm not giving you the chance to take my place."

She believed the Boss would help her. She wouldn't let her hard-earned status slip away.

Lana was as good as done.

Lana scoffed, "I create my chances. Who do you think you are? Don't get too high and mighty."

Megan was fuming. Thomas, that good-for-nothing, had screwed up their plan. If only he had successfully hypnotized Aurelia and made her kill Lana, Megan's troubles would've been over.
