Chapter 83
She sprang up from the couch, holding her head high, trying to minimize the height difference.
Fueled by righteous indignation!
“As per the marriage laws, our assets post–marriage are shared. Spending your money is my legitimate right! If you dare to decrease the allowance, I’ll tell everyone in the company that I am your wife! This news will not only shake Astral Enterprises but the whole town too!”
Leopold swiftly lifted his hand, clutching her chin, “Do you think this can threaten me?”
“I don’t know, but someone’s definitely going to weep rivers.”
A wicked smile crept onto her face. The thought of Evelyn’s shocked expression and her face twisted in surprise and indignation brought her immense pleasure.
Leopold took note of her subtle reaction.
He believed she was capable of causing such a stir, her unpredictability always out of his control.
“Words can be dangerous. If you don’t watch that mouth of yours, I assure you, you’ll regret it.”
In reality, Aurelia was just blustering. She wasn’t foolish enough to put herself in the line of fire.
“I value my life. I won’t do anything to regret unless you force me to.”
A cold glint flashed in Leopold’s eyes, “Behave, and you’ll get what you want, otherwise, the consequences will be unbearable.”
He needed to make her aware of the potential danger, to keep her in check.
His fingers tightened slightly, causing a faint pain on her chin, making Aurelia furrow her brows.
Leopold decided not to hold her accountable for Evelyn’s situation, his personal interests were more. important.
“As long as you don’t cut back on my allowance, I’ll keep my lips sealed.”
Leopold couldn’t help but laugh at her greed.
“Get out!”
If she stayed any longer, she was going to drive him insane!
“Deal,” Aurelia stuck out her tongue and dashed out like a hare, fearing he might change his mind.
Once in the elevator, she started calculating their shared assets.
Given his rocket–speed income, she realized she should have demanded much more.
Damn it, what a loss!
She dropped by the Personnel Department before returning to the Design Department.
The moment she walked in, the previously noisy room fell silent.
She glanced at Emma, “Emma, the company has clear rules. Only significant issues should be reported to the higher–ups. You made such a fuss over a tiny misunderstanding and even involved the big boss? He’s not only in charge of Astral Enterprises. He can’t be bothered with petty problems like these.”
Pausing, she raised her voice, “Effective today, you’re no longer the team leader, Cindy will take over. I’ve reported the decision to the Personnel Department, and they’ll issue an official notice soon.”
Evelyn was seething, “Manager Aurelia, Emma is part of my team, shouldn’t I handle this?”
“I just came from the president’s office. This is Mr. Leopold’s decision. He wants me to handle it.” Aurelia left her with those words and returned to her desk.
She had no intention of letting a small fry off the hook.
A harsh lesson was needed to keep the rest in check!
