Chapter 720 I Will Never Forgive You

He rambled on for quite a while, even bringing up the legal advisor. “You should meet with Mr. Peter Hudson along with Olivia. He will help you sort everything out…“.
Suppressing her anxiety, Lysander interrupted, “Don’t talk about this now. I don’t know what’s in your safe deposit box, and I don’t know Mr. Peter Hudson. The fire is so intense, so someone is bound to call the police. Once we are out, you can handle these matters yourself.”
Lysander gazed into the distance, feeling uncertain.
The commotion here should have attracted nearby people, but none of Josiah’s men had shown up. They were probably unable to at the moment.
The bodyguards Tiffany brought were not numerous but highly skilled, making them difficult to take down individually.
Josiah seemed to realize this too. He looked at Lysander as if trying to memorize her features and said hoarsely, “I have an idea. The fire started from below. We can go to the roof to buy time and wait for
rescue.”
Lysander followed his gaze upward.
The overhanging caves were still some distance away.
Josiah grabbed her hand and crouched down. “We can’t waste any more time. You go up first.”
He let Lysander step onto his shoulders and then lifted her up.
Knowing she couldn’t lift Josiah, Lysander did not argue. Once she was up, she immediately clung to the edge of the caves and stretched out her hand to him. “Quick! Give me your hand, I will pull you up!”
Josiah did not reach out. Instead, he stood up and looked at her with a complex expression.
“Lysander Thorne,” he called her by her full name for the first time, his voice catching slightly. “Keep climbing. The higher you go, the safer you will be.”
Lysander froze, waving her hand in the air. She then realized that Josiah had known all along that he wouldn’t be able to get up.
The idea of pulling him up was just a ruse to get her to escape alone.
A buzzing sound filled Lysander’s head. She heard herself speak in a panicked voice, “I can reach your hand. Don’t give up, let’s try.”
Josiah shook his head gently, his hands hanging at his sides, never making a move to reach up. He only spoke when he saw her tears start to fall. “My hands are injured, and it is too late. The fire is too intense. If you don’t go, we will both die.”
Even in this dire moment, he did not want Lysander to feel guilty.
“I am sorry. I once promised I would never leave you, that I would die after you. Now it seems those words were premature. I am sorry. Go now!”

Chapter 720 I Will Never Forgive You
The flames had already reached outdoors.

The platform at the top of the stairs where Josiah stood creaked under the heat, ready to collapse at any moment, but he remained calm, having accepted his fate.
“It doesn’t matter if you don’t forgive me, but don’t forget what I told you. I made a will a long time ago. The things I left are for you and my mom. If you can, please take care of her for the rest of her life. I am sorry, Lysander.”
Lysander clung to the eaves, shaking her head and reaching out to him desperately, but her vision blurred as the smoke she had inhaled began to take its toll.
At some point, Josiah’s voice faded completely, replaced by the sound of sirens.
Lysander was awakened by Josiah’s voice.
She knew clearly that she was lying on the roof, but it felt like she’d been sleeping.
Josiah appeared. He was impeccably dressed, his suit crisp and hair neat, but his expression was unusually gentle. He said to her, “Lysander, I am sorry.”
“Don’t say that. I’ve heard enough of it. You did nothing wrong this time as you saved me,” she replied.
Suddenly, Lysander felt her body and soul separating. Her body was heavy and immobile, while her soul seemed to float.
She never expected such words to come from her mouth.
Josiah indeed stopped apologizing. Instead, he silently looked at her, as if he would never see her again if he closed his eyes.
The surroundings blurred, leaving only the two of them.
“Okay, I won’t say what you don’t like,” Josiah said, taking her hand. She did not shake him off this time.
Lysander’s fingertips trembled. “I am not blaming you. Say what you need to.”
The thought appeared out of nowhere in her mind, that people tend to speak kindly when they were on their deathbeds.
Josiah’s voice grew distant. “I’ve said everything I needed to. I have no regrets. Take care of yourself. Maybe find a good husband, someone unlike me this time. Goodbye.”
The farewell was so soft it was almost inaudible. But it was this word that woke Lysander from her dream.
The air smelled of disinfectant.
Everything was stark white.
The first thing she asked upon opening her eyes was, “Where’s Josiah? Where is he?”
Laura and Susan, who had been keeping watch by her bed, immediately looked over.
Both surprised and overjoyed, Laura wiped her tears. “Lysa, you are finally awake…”

Update pls~...
Why no update ???...
Chapters 692 693 ans 694 are impossible to read. Not sure if there was an issue with translation.but the words do not make sense..impossible to follow story line...
I cant get over the fact that the writer is trying to show as if the male lead has committed a grave sin. First he didnt know she was pregnant because she never told him. Second right from the start she never communicated anything. She was unbothered even during her marriage. I am not saying the male lead is great but atleast he seems like a human with emotions unlike her. And there is no context for why she is so emotionless....
The female lead is not charming but an unbothered b word, there is a very big difference. There is no point of extending this story at all because even if you write 1000+ chapters at 1001 the male lead would still be doing everything for her and she wouldnt bat an eye even if someone killed him. I mean honestly either the start should have been written better where we do understand that she was deeply affected because of her divorce or just STOPPPPP. Even for fiction it is annoying....
